Jericho V
The Remnant & Rahab's Red Cord
Continued from Part 19
A Day to Shout Within
What shall we say to this people? Remain in fervent prayer for the enemy is at your door! But also this is a Yom Teruah, a day of shouting but not the final day of shouting, for we shall not shout outwardly until the seventh day. This is the rehearsal in your heart - so begin to shout within! We shall cry within and we shall declare with solemnity of spirit, and with great tiqvah (hope), that the Son of Man has arrived on this Fifth Day to punish the stout heart of the nations (Is.10:12, KJV) according to the Mishpat that has been proclaimed. Let the world hold its breath! For it is written:
"By emunah (faith, trusting) the walls of Jericho fell down after they had been encircled on seven successive days" (Heb.11:30, NEB):
By Faith We Cling on to Hope
By emunah (faith, trusting) we pursue it and we have seen the justification of our emunah (faith, trusting) by the evidence of our eyes. By emunah (faith, trusting) we pursue this course even in our darkest moments, when doubts assail, when there is no visible assurance save the assurance of the Davar (Word). By emunah (faith, trusting) we cling onto tiqvah (hope), for emunah (faith, trusting) is what gives tiqvah (hope) its substance, and makes us certain of realities we cannot yet see (Heb.11:1).
A Sacrifice
What are you willing to offer up that you might enjoy the promised Sukkot (Tabernacles) anointing of the remnant? In my darkest hour on the Third Day of the March I offered up the Olive Branch and my life's work thus far, and though the Accuser said I never would, I did not listen to him. I stood ready to burn and delete the lot, horrific though the thought of destroying 30 years of labour appeared to me. But what is worth holding onto other than the Eternal Chayim (Life) which is in Messiah Yah'shua (Jesus)? We take nothing else but Him across the veil of mortality with us to the other side. Everything else is ultimately vain.
The Fire You Must Choose: A Day of Yahweh is Upon Us
Are you with us on this Walk? Or is this something of peripheral interest to your life? Do you think these are the imaginings of sincere but deluded people? The decision to walk or to observe has really already been made, the separation began on the First Day. True, there are some Rahab's in the walls of today's City of Destruction who have given shelter to Yah's People, and they shall be delivered and become echad (one) with the Remnant, but unless the rest are with the Army of Yahweh, they are not with the Remnant but have chosen the low road with its punative fire rather than the High Road's Blessed Fire of Dwelling:
"'For behold, the day is coming, burning like an oven, and all the proud, yes, all who do wickedly will be stubble. And the day which is coming shall burn them up,' says Yahweh of hosts (armies), that will leave them neither root nor branch. But to you who fear My Name (Yahweh) the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this', says Yahweh of hosts (armies)'" (Mal.4:1-3, NKJV).
Dress Rehearsal for the Last Generation
Now this is not the Day of which Malachi speaks but it is a Day and it is the penultimate Day, so it is not a small matter. It is a rehearsal of the Day that the last generation shall partake of of which they are witnesses this day.
The Remnant Army and the Repentant Whore
Today you are either in the Remnant Army of Yahweh or you are a repentant whore who chose to give succor to Yahweh's footsoldiers...or you're on the side slated for destruction. If you are the latter, they you have the promise that if your heart is now true, then she may bring with her, "father, her mother, her brothers, and all that she had" (Josh 6:23, NKJV). "Was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?" (James 2:25, NKJV). But if the harlot is to be saved she must risk everything and betray all that she was a part of in the world for the sake of righteousness. She must show loyalty only to Yahweh and His People. So this is not a casual repentance - it is a forsaking of everything in the world. Anything less is fake.
Achan and Family vs. Rahab and Family
There are those who are shocked when they learn that when Achan broke the b'rit (covenant) that his wife and children perished with him too (Josh.7; 22:20). However, those who are so shocked are more than happy that Rahab could bring her parents and her brothers and all she had - even though they had no part that we know of in protecting the spies - along with her! In short, her father's household:
"And Joshua ('Yah'shua/Jesus') spared Rahab the harlot, her father's household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho" (Josh.6:25, NKJV).
Joshua as a Type of the Scarlet Cord
Joshua is a type of Yah'shua (Jesus) who was the true Saviour or Deliverer of Rahab which is why the spies instructed her:
"We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear, unless, when we come into the land, you bind this line of scarlet cord in the window through which you let us down" (Josh.2:17-18, NKJV).
Faith Demonstrated by Obedience
She demonstrated her faith in the saving blood of Messiah by an act of obedience in emunah (faith, trusting):
"'According to your words, so be it.' And she sent them away, and they departed. And she bound the scarlet cord in the window" (Josh 2:21, NKJV).
The Yom Kippur Scarlet Cord
Every Yom haKippurim (Day of Atonement) a scarlet cord would be attached to the temple doors and every time the Cohen Gadol (High Priest) entered the Holy of Holies to make blood atonement for the nation, and if the sancrifice was accepted, the red cord would supernaturally turn white. This yearly miracle stopped after Yah'shua (Jesus) became our Eternal Cohen Gadol (High Priest) and made the final sacrifice for all sin on the Cross. What this means was that Rahab was symbolically and prophetically, without understanding the implications, making an appeal to the blood of the Cross for her deliverance.
Corporate Salvation and Corporate Cursing
When individuals are righteous whole households are blessed, when individuals are wicked whole households are cursed. Understand this principle because it is critical for the end-times:
"For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband; otherwise your children would be unclean, but now they are qodesh (set-apart, holy)" (1 Cor.7:14, NKJV).
Temporal Salvation for the Unsaved Covered Ones
This does not mean that unbelievers get a free ticket into heaven because they are married to a believer or because they are the children of believers - it means that they are accorded certain blessings while they are alive in the flesh which do not continue after death. The family is sacred. Thus we who are of the family of Messiah may be certain of this:
"For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren" (Heb.2:10-11, NKJV).
Submit to Divine Tavnith
It is for us to submit to the divine tavnith (pattern) and not to make human judgments based on misguided human compassion. Human justice is in any case fatally flawed - we are not remotely good at it. Only Yahweh's compassion is true compassion, only Yahweh's justice is true justice. If you want to complete this Jericho March, you must think as Yahweh and not as man. You must obey Yahweh's rules (Torah), not man's.
"By emunah (faith, trusting) the harlot Rahab did not perish with those who did not believe, when she had received the spies with shalom (peace)" (Heb.11:31, NKJV).
The Blessed Ancestor of Messiah
The reward of Rahab's emunah (faith, trusting) was far greater than the physical salvation of her household and her own deliverance from death. Her offspring was Boaz the father of David, the ancestor of Yah'shua (Jesus):
"Salmon begot Boaz by Rahab, Boaz begot Obed by Ruth, Obed begot Jesse, and Jesse begot David the king" (Matt.1:5-6, NKJV).
Cling to the Scarlet Cord
Therefore there is hope for the harlot, the enemy of Elohim (God) if she will fully repent and hang out the scarlet cord as a declaration of her emunah (faith, trusting) in her Deliverer. This is the only hope for any of us - the scarlet cord which is Messiah Yah'shua (Jesus) - and for those still in the City of Destruction at this late hour, they must cling onto this scarlet cord if they are to be saved from the imminent Mishpat (Judgment) against the nations. But we must also receive back any who have traitoriously gone over to the Canaanites if they will genuinely repent and cling on to the scarlet cord too and never betray the Bridegroom or Messianic Israel again. Forgiveness is available but only on Yahweh's terms.
Conclusion
Sadly, there will always be scoffers before any calamity because they choose not to believe in the emet (truth) not exercise emunah (faith) in Yahweh. I have spoken my peace, the brethren have been praying in tears, the warning has gone out. Events must now take their course and Yah's will be done. But if you believe, tied the scarlet cord to your homes and to your property as we have done (see below) as a token of your emunah (faith, trusting) in the all sufficient blood of Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) for those who obey. Amen.
