    Plural Marriage:
    Why Do We Practice It?
    Part 4: The Prophetic Vision

"The Lord has yet more light and truth to give us from His Word", goes a popular classical hymn, and this article is a further unfolding witness of the purpose of this ministry and that of our family.

One of the wonderous things about the Gospel of Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) is that it is never static. It is continually expanding and growing to reveal new vistas of love and understanding. Indeed, I am troubled the most when things "stand still" and there is a lack of vision in the people:

"The Torah/Law is no more, and her prophets find no vision from Yahweh" (Lamentations 2:9, NKJV)

Where there is a lack of vision - of understanding what Yahweh's purpose for us is - it is usually because of lawlessness. And lawlessness results when people do not want to obey what Yahweh is trying to teach them in His Word.

As I have already stated in the earlier articles in this introduction, polygamy exists first and foremost to multiply the love of Christ in a love-starved world. But it is also true to say that Yahweh uses polygamy, as well as many other principles, as a prophetic picture of the wider meaning of life. He used it anciently to depict His deepest desire that Israel and Judah should be one by representing Himself as their polygamous husband, and He used it again in the Book of Revelation to depict the complete oneness between the Church/Assembly and the Saviour which is our consummate goal. And finally, He uses individual families as symbols of that greater goal.

The restoration of polygamy in these latter times is not for polygamy's sake alone - Yahweh has not inspired men of vision to again begin teaching about and practicing this godly lifestyle just so that men and women can have big, happy, united families, important a goal though this is. The restoration of polygamy is a part of a seven-fold restoration that is taking place for the unification of the Body of Christ into an end-time fellowship.

The Book of Zechariah speaks of the end-time construction of the Temple of Yahweh - not a temple of bricks and mortar, but a temple consisting of people. We are told, moreover, of the mode of its construction:

"This is the word of Yahweh to Zerubbabel:
'Not by might nor by power, but by My Ruach (Spirit),'
      Says Yahweh of hosts.
'Who are you, O great mountain?
Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain!
And he shall bring forth the capstone
With shouts of "Grace, grace to it!"'"

      (Zechariah 4:6-7, NKJV)

The end-time Temple is to be built by the Ruach haQodesh/Holy Spirit and will be invisible to all but those who are annointed by the sevenfold Spirit (Revelation 1:4; 3:1; 4:5;).

Yahweh our Elohim (God) has seven "eyes", and each 'eye' corresponds to one of these Holy Spirits:

"And I looked, and behold, in the midst of the throne and of the four living creatures, and in the midst of the elders, stood a Lamb as though it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven Spirits of Elohim (God) sent out into all the earth" (Revelation 5:5-7, NKJV)

Like Yahweh, the Lamb has seven Spirits, which are likened to eyes. And in an amazing prophecy to the High Priest Joshua - himself a type of Yah'shua (Jesus), since the names are identical - the Messiah is called the Branch and the stone, upon which are seven eyes. These are the same eyes with which Eloah (God) sends to the earth (Rev.5:6). The Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) is therefore the seven-fold vision of the Godhead (Elohimhead) - it is through Her that Elohim (God) 'sees'.

"Hear, O Joshua, the high priest,
You and your companions who sit before you,
      For they are a wondrous sign;
For behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH.
      For behold, the stone
That I have laid before Joshua:
Upon the stone are seven eyes".
      (Zechariah 3:8-9, NKJV)

Christ is the chief corner stone which the builders rejected (Lk.20:17) on which is, as we have seen, seven eyes. Christ, the allegorical Bridegroom, is wed to His Assembly/Church which is also "seven eyes", seven being the number of Covenant. Christ is the well from which the Samaritan woman was urged to draw living water, wells being symbolic or oathes or covenants ever since the time Abraham entered into a covenant with Abimelech at Beersheba:

"Then Abimelech asked Abraham, 'What is the meaning of these seven ewe lambs which you have set by themselves?' And he said, 'You will take these seven ewe lambs from my hand, that they may be my witness that I have dug this well.' Therefore he called that place Beersheba, because the two of them swore an oath there. Thus they made a covenant at Beersheba" (Genesis 21:29-32, NKJV)

Beersheba, as we know, literally means 'well' (be'er) of the oath/covenant (shibah). We, as believers, partake of the New Covenant - the Covenant of Christ - through the blood of atonement offered by the Lamb of Elohim (God), by dipping into the 'Well of Seven'. The word 'oath' or 'covenant' and the word 'seven' are interchangeable in Hebrew. Seven is the number of Covenant.

We become visible, and therefore 'known', to Yahweh through Christ as we enter into this 'Covenant of Seven'. He 'sees' us through the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) who dwells within us through allegorical marriage covenant. The moment we truly accept Yah'shua (Jesus) as Messiah (Christ), we enter into a seven-fold marriage covenant as represented by the Hebrew Menorah or lampstand with its seven lights (e.g. Zechariah 4:2). They are the seven loaves of bread, miraculously multiplied into seven basketfulls of crumbs on behalf of the spiritually hungry who come to Yah'shua (Jesus) for sustenance (Matthew 15:34-37).

But there are hazzards along the way. We face the seven-fold onslaught of Satan who sends his demons in sevens (Lk.7:26) every time one is evicted and sin is allowed to multiply without true covenant in Christ. We have seven overcomings to attain as we wrestle against the seven-pronged attack of the flesh as represented by the various local problems of the seven congregations of Asia Minor in the Book of Revelation. Seven blesses us and seven opposes us.

We recall Mary Magdalene from whom Christ expelled seven demons, releasing her from the covenant of the devil as she became filled with the seven-fold Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) (Mark 16:9; Luke 8:2) and we recall the hopeless dilemma of the woman who had had seven husbands through the Law of Levirate and the confusion which resulted in determining whose husband she really was. And what did Christ answer?

"You are mistaken, not knowing the Scriptures nor the power of Elohim (God). For in the resurrection they (the seven husbands) neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of Elohim (God) in heaven" (Matthew 22:29-30, NKJV).

And who are "they"? They are the seven - the seven who are not of the covenant, the "sons of this age" (Lk.20:34, NKJV). For those who belong to the resurrection age, such no longer enter marriage as the children of this world do, to part at death, for they belong to a higher order of being after the Order of Adam.

As you will discover on this website, we believe that there are two kinds of 'marriage' - the contracts we enter into in this life and the ones we entered into before this life and which continue in the next. The latter we call (for convenience), echad union or oneness marriage or HOLY ECHAD MARRIAGE (HEM).

Not every marriage is an Adamic echad one. People select their companions based on the flesh and not the spirit and their unions either fail or plateau early and stagnate. Even those who are in Christ make this mistake and just because married couples are believers does not mean that they have Adamic marriages which will survive death. Only Yahweh knows for sure who are true soul-mates after this Adamic Order. Only that which Yahweh brings together may man not break asunder.

Nobody disputes that Adam and Eve were the first couple and that they were 'man and wife' and yet you will search in vain for any evidence of a 'marriage ceremony'. They were not two separate people from two separate families who met, fell in love, entered into a marriage contract, and lived happily ever after together until death separated them. They did not do as we do in our quest for mates. For they were not only 'made married' but actually had a rather unique origin.

When Adam was created, he was created with woman latent within him. And at a juncture in time, our Heavenly Father, Yahweh, brought forth Eve from within her husband and made of one person, two people with opposite but complimentary genders.

The word 'marriage' means to bring together in union. Yes, Adam and Eve certainly came 'together' in the flesh on their nuptual bed but there was none of the exploration and discovery that we associate with earthly romance. They were already one in mind, heart and spirit and actually shared the same flesh-substance. Genetically-speaking, Eve represented the X compliment (XX) of Adam's XY sex-chromosomes. From the original wholeness came a part. Eve was always a 'part' of Adam, and remained a 'part' of him even when taken out of him. But she also had free will. By being 'taken out' of him she was placed both as a dependent as well as an independent entity. And because she derived from him, her sole desire is to return to him whilst being a separate entity. Eve returns to Adam, not the reverse. Likewise, we return to Yahweh, and not the other way round.

Now the concepts which I am trying to convey are not easy to apprehend at first because they depend upon an understanding of the wider picture of Yahweh's plan for humanity in general. The image we are given of Eve being taken out of Adam is supposed to remind us of the common spiritual origin of all women relative to men, hearkening back to a time before we took on flesh, and to remind us of the kind of oneness or echad that really matters in the eternities. The Bible begins with the creation of man, and then of woman who is taken from and for man, as representative of the whole human family. Adam therefore, whilst an actual person, is also symbolic of all men; and Eve, whilst an actual person, is also symbolic of all women. From this primordial oneness an astonishing multiplication takes place which is often represented by the number seven. The earth becomes populated and men and women, seeking that original primordial oneness which is deeply embedded in their subconscious, seek out mates. Sometimes they find their right mates (their 'soul mates') and sometimes they don't. Marriage is quite a dicey game. Some find bliss, some find misery, and the rest just mediocrity.

Sacred history records two Adams - the first man from the Garden of Eden, and the Redeemer of Men, Elohim (God) incarnate:

"'The first man Adam became a living being.' The last Adam became a life-giving spirit. However, the spiritual is not first, but the natural, and afterward the spiritual. The first man was of the earth, made of dust; the second Man is the Master from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are made of dust; and as is the heavenly Man, so also are those who are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly Man" (1 Corinthians 15:45-49, NKJV)

We bear two images from two Adams - one which is of the flesh (dust) - material - and one which is of the ruach (spiritual). These two images are eternal. When Yahweh made man and woman, He declared the creation "good", and whatever He creates is never temporary but eternal ... once it has acquired the right spiritual image.

Now here is an interesting fact. The material image is monogamous. Adam had (as far as we know) only one wife (traditions that he had more notwithstanding). This image is a monogamous one. But the spiritual image is a polygamous one - or to be precise, it is a mono-polygamous one, because the Book of Revelation tells us that the object and goal of sacred history is that those who are saved (who form one Bride, Body, Assembly or Church) shall comprise millions of allegorical brides. The Bridegroom is both monogamous (as Adam was) and polygamous.

Now how is this divine Bridegroom (Christ) identified? What is the hallmark of the Bride?

"He who has the bride is the bridegroom" (John 3:29, NKJV).

Christ is not a Bridegroom until He acquires His Bride. And that Bride is us! And history as we know it is not brought to an end until all that Bride has been gathered and all is fulfilled. The victory of Yahweh - the purpose of all His creation - is defined by that Bridegroom. Without the Bride, the Plan of Salvation is a failure. How do the angels know who the Bridegroom is? It is the One who has the Bride!

By a similar token, a man has not achieved his purpose until he has acquired his bride! An unmarried man is an incomplete man. He is undefined and unidentified. The woman or women he marries is what restores his true and full identity. And her identity finds fulfilment in him.

The quest for meaning in life is a quest for identity: 'Who am I?' is an oft repeated question. And the answer lies on two different levels. First, we are identified by our soul-mates; Second, by our spiritual Creator.

The seven eyes of the Elohim (God) range over the earth seeking the allegorical Bride just as the seven women yearn for their husband:

"And in that day seven women shall take hold of one man, saying,
      "We will eat our own food and wear our own apparel;
Only let us be called by your name,
      To take away our reproach."
      In that day the Branch of Yahweh shall be beautiful and glorious;
And the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing
For those of Israel who have escaped.

      (Isaiah 4:1-2, NKJV)

Do you see the multi-faceted nature of this prophecy? In the day of the restoration of Zion and the creation of the Millennial Kingdom, seven women will seek out their husband in order to receive a name, for without him they are nameless. Eve's identity is in her husband, Adam - she bears his name, for she came forth from his name. She is Adam, and therefore she longs for that name.

In the beginning was Eve, and Eve was with Adam, and Eve was Adam. She was with Adam in the beginning. Through her all humans came into being; without her, no human being came into existence that has come into existence (because she is the mother of all living - Gen.3:20). In her was all physical life, and that physical life was the light of men (cp. John 1:1-4).

Who is the "Branch"? It is the Messiah. But the Messiah is not seen or known without His Bride - His seven-fold perfected and redeemed polygamous Bride, which is the Millennial Israel. It is written: "all Israel will be saved" (Rom.11:26, NKJV) but this is not a reference to all the inhabitants of the state of Israel but to the redeemed of Yahweh. The Bride is Israel, predestined to salvation from the beginning (Rom.8:29) - and those who were predestined were called - and the called were justified - and the justified were glorified (v.30). The called, the justified and the glorfied are the polygamous Bride - glorified in Christ their Redeemer, just as Eve was, and is, called, justified and glorified in Adam, and as the end-time daughters of Yahweh are called, justified and glorified in their soulmates.

This predestination is that which was destined from the beginning, before the creation of our physical world, and shall be realised and fulfilled in the Marriage Feast of the Lamb. Life here is the 'inbetween' stage where the predestined find salvation and those who were not do not. The Bride of Christ always was chosen from the foundation of the world, just as the Messiah was, just as our spouses were, and all are part of the "things kept secret from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 13:35, NKJV). Like a railroad going into the eternities, one track is in the union of our eternal spouses, and the other our union in Christ - side by side, parallelling and mirroring each other, to teach us of the way we should go. Both rails are polygamous - a man and his uniplural bride, and Christ and His uniplural Bride.

We seek a Kingdom "prepared ... from the foundation of the world" (Matthew 25:34, NKJV), a kingdom which is founded on marriage from one end of it to the other, throughout all time and eternity. A Kingdom with a King and kings, a Kingdom with a High Priest and priests, a Kingdom with a Bridegroom and a plural bride in grand celebration.

This is our vision of Heaven - an allegorical polygamous marriage of the predestined and redeemed of Christ with their Saviour composed of polygamous Adamic marriages of men with their wives in perfect echad or oneness, as foretold by Yah'shua (Jesus) in His High Priestly prayer recorded in the Gospel of John. We do not seek the marriages of the world, of the type beloved by the Sadducees which come to an end, in which men and women are single in the resurrection as the angels are right now - we seek the kind of oneness or echad marriage of which the marriage of Adam and Eve was a type before the fall. We therefore believe in marriage which is both monogamous and polygamous simultaneously, for in Echad Polygamy a man is married to one wife and many, even as Christ is allegorically married to the one Church or Messianic Community composed of many, many souls (the Messianic Community).

I am a polygamist with a single wife composed of (at present) three beautiful women in Christ. And yet they are three wives too. Our vision of Christian polygamy is therefore radically different from the other kinds which are presently to be found, where a polygamous man is regarded as having several marriages and several wives instead of one marriage with several wives. In this respect HEM fundamentally differs from other Christian polygamy systems of belief and practice and which we considered to be half built on the old Mosaic model and half on that of the New Covenant. Accordingly they believe in marriage that ends at death, just as Sadducees did without knowing it until Christ pointed their fate out to them. So the question is: what kind of polygamous marriage do you want?

The vision which is presented on this website is the vision given to the author. We grant other Christian/Messianic polgyamists the right to live the forms of polygamy that they have chosen and wish Yahweh's blessings upon them. You will discover, therefore, as you study this website that our agenda is somewhat different from theirs. We are aiming higher and beyond earth life. And because we have set lofty goals, the path we declare is proportionally more difficult but infinitely more rewarding.

We present, therefore, NEW COVEANT ECHAD (ONENESS) POLYGAMY or HOLY ECHAD (ONENESS) MARRIAGE (HEM) to all those who have been called into it. We believe this to be the marriage way of the Royal Priesthood - the 144,000:

"Then I looked, and behold, a Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with Him one hundred and forty-four thousand, having His Father's name written on their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, like the voice of many waters, and like the voice of loud thunder. And I heard the sound of harpists playing their harps. They sang as it were a new song before the throne, before the four living creatures, and the elders; and no one could learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand who were redeemed from the earth. These are the ones who were not defiled with women, for they are virgins. These are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever He goes. These were redeemed from among men, being firstfruits to Elohim (God) and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no deceit, for they are without fault before the throne of Elohim (God)" (Revelation 14:1-5, NKJV).

These are Israel - the redeemed of Yahweh - from every tribe of Jacob:

"'Do not harm the earth, the sea, or the trees till we have sealed the servants of our Elohim (God) on their foreheads.' And I heard the number of those who were sealed. One hundred and forty-four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel were sealed: of the tribe of Judah twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Reuben twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Gad twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Asher twelve thousand were sealed;of the tribe of Naphtali twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Manasseh [sic. Dan] twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Simeon twelve thousand were sealed;of the tribe of Levi twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Issachar twelve thousand were sealed; of the tribe of Zebulun twelve thousand were sealed;of the tribe of Joseph twelve thousand were sealed;of the tribe of Benjamin twelve thousand were sealed" (Revelation 7:3-8, NKJV).

These are, we believe, 144,000 patriarchal families living the echad way of Christ. In addition to these there is

"... a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands, and crying out with a loud voice, saying, 'Salvation belongs to our God who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!'" (Revelation 7:9-11, NKJV)

who chose Christ but not all His ways, prefering compromise and traditions to one degree or another, and who are not therefore of the 12 Tribes of Millennial Israel.

We teach the Israelite way of the 144,000, who reject the defilements of the symbolic "women" (Babylon and her prostitutes" (Revelation 14:4), virgins as far as the world and its lusts are concerned, for they are the Woman who travails in the wilderness during the Great Tribulation:

"Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by Elohim (God), that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days" (Revelation 12:6, NKJV -- also see vv.13ff)

while those who were not of Israel believed in the rapture lie and were caught unprepared and were slaughtered, to join the great multitude.

This uniplural mono-polygamous Bride is a body of polygamous commandment-keepers adhering to the faith of Yah'shua (Jesus):

"And the dragon was enraged with the woman, and he went to make war with the rest of her offspring, who keep the commandments of God [Elohim] and have the testimony of Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) ... Here is the patience of the saints; here are those who keep the commandments of Elohim (God) and the faith of Yah'shua (Jesus) ... Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city" (Revelation 12:17; 14:12-13; 22:14, NKJV)

To partake of the Tree of Life consists of more than having faith in Christ but requires that you obey His commandments, the difference between passive (lawless) and active (law-keeping) faith. Those who refuse to obey the commandments declare themselves to be lawless and debar themselves from partaking of that Tree which gives eternal life. They reject the commandments because they adhere not to the Covenant of Seven, or to the Seventh Day Sabbath which they have rejected in favour of the Day of the Sun (Sunday) or the Day of Saturn (Saturday), and reject the Zionic Man with Seven Adamic Covenant Wives (Is.4:1). They may claim the Law (Torah) of Yahweh is written on their hearts (Heb.8:10; 10:16) but prove otherwise by their hatred of that same Law, and will seek every excuse to repudiate it, even to the point of demonising it as Martin Luther did.

HEM is a website of the Chavurat Bekorot which has a complete and unified theology. We have a very different view of women to both fundamentalist and liberal Christians which may surprise and, we hope, delight men and women alike. We present to Christendom and the world a vital missing link in the Sevenfold Covenant of the Gospel, without which there is no Israel and without which the elect may never realise their calling and potential (Matthew 24:24; Mark 13:22; Romans 11:7; Colossians 3:12). The end-time Church or Messianic Community can never be made perfect without echad polygamy which is why it is being restored alongside the false types, as wheat amongst the tares and sheep amongst the goats. So whatever you may have read or heard about other Christian ministries and groups, please put these aside as you consider this unique message to the elect searching for the truth.

And may Yahweh bless you in your search and illuminated you with the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit) through Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ). Amen.
