01-05. What Do I Now Do?
If the Holy Spirit has testified to you that the Word of God is true, then you have only one choice: Obey! You yourself, and your family, must do what Yahweh has commanded through Yahshua (Jesus) and His apostles.
But personal obedience is not enough. There is no such thing as a solo Christian. We are commanded to fellowship with others who are being obedient too. It is here that you may perhaps have to make some heart-wrenching decisions, especially if you have been brought up in, or been converted to, a Sunday-observing Church. If you are a believer, and have been saved, you will want to do as the Lord wishes so that your growth and sanctification in Him will not be impeded.
Fortunately, there are many Sabbatarian (Sabbath-honouring) Churches and groups around today though because of your location you may find yourself alone for a while until you yourself have reached out to others and shared the truth of the true Lord's Day. However, not all Sabbatarian Churches may necessarily be teaching the truth in other areas of doctrine and practice and so you are under an obligation to begin a prayerful, in-depth Biblical study. If you are not the studious type, now is your chance to enjoy that blessing!
Please also be aware that God's commandment that you observe the Saturday Sabbath (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset) does not mean that you cannot meet with other Christians on other days of the week as well. You should not suppose that this prohibits you from meeting with other Christians on Sundays. You will, however, want to carefully check to make sure that the Church you attend does not make attending Sunday services a LEGAL OBLIGATION - if they openly teach that Sunday is God's SABBATH (like the Catholics or Mormons) you should shun them on this ground alone.
For the most part evangelical Churches teach that the Sabbath has been done away with ALTOGETHER and so this may not be a problem for you too. However, if they begin to OPPOSE and PERSECUTE you because you observe Yahweh's Sabbath, this will be a clear sign to you that they are working AGAINST Christ and that it is time to leave their fellowship. Attending a Sunday-observing Church will, however, almost certainly preclude you actively serving in it as a member since they will be denying something that you now know to be true.
There IS something special about the Sabbath because Yahweh-God through Christ has put His very PRESENCE into it by blessing it and making it holy. Enjoying precious fellowship with those of like mind is therefore something precious indeed. To worship God on Sunday or any other day is fine and bring blessings to you, but there is something SPECIAL about the Sabbath.
We know there is. For twelve years New Covenant Christians met and worshipped on Sunday, believing it to be the Christian Sabbath. We were blinded by false tradition until forced to confront the truth and ask the Lord for immdiate direction. The response was fast - we IMMEDIATELY got a revelation in February 1999 which you may read by clicking the torch below:
The change-over for us was without any sort of problem - in fact, the observance of our first true Sabbath felt like COMING HOME. We hope you will experience that also.
However, before you start worrying about another Church to fellowship in, it is imperative - especially if you still have any lingering doubts - that you research these matters out more thoroughly until you are COMPLETELY satisfied what the Bible teaches. If the Holy Spirit has definitely confirmed it, then by all means move on in obedience. In the meantime, we highly recommend the following books on the subject:
