The Promise Made to the Righteous
"One trouble with a curse kills, but many troubles
Yahweh nowhere promises that His people will live trouble-free lives. On the contrary, often those who follow Him have more problems and troubles than those who do not! However, He does make an astonishing promise in today's passage of scripture: those who are tsadiq or "righteous" he delivers from "all" troubles! This is to be understood relatively for though the wicked may have fewed troubles it only takes one to bring them to utter ruin.
"Many are the afflictions (ra, evil) of the righteous (tsadiq), but Yahweh delivers (natsal, snatches away, saves) him out of them all" (Ps.34:19, NKJV).
So here you have an identifying mark of the true believer as against the false one or the one who does not believe at all: the true believer has tons of problems but Yahweh sees him through all of them, whereas the false believer or the unbeliever is automatically opposed and it only takes one calamity to bring him down completely.
"The eyes of Yahweh are on the righteous (tsadiq), and His ears are open to their cry. The face of Yahweh is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth" (Ps.34:15-16, NKJV).
The true faith does not exempt its adherent from suffering, though many think it should. But we are most definitely supported in our trials. Why? Because this is all preparation for what is to come. We are, if you like, being 'spiritually toughened' for work yet to be done, if we will accept it. Ultimately, if not immediately, the wicked do suffer more than the righteous, for they must yet be brought to account and have their punishment meeted out.
"Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned. Yahweh redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned" (Ps.34:21-22, NKJV).
I wish I could bring you tidings of outer peace in the world but I cannot. And though there may be respites, things are only going to get worse, and we are raising a generation for whom these things will become normal, until Messiah returns. It is therefore urgent - more urgent than ever before - to get right with Yahweh and to once again trust and obey Yah'shua (Jesus) if you have turned against Him. Many in the millions are going to perish in the calamities that are to be purposefully unfolded by the enemy in the years to come, and which have already begun. But those who trust in Yahweh will be delivered from all their afflictions!
with a blessing in them are harmless" (Anon)
