Lucifer's Error
How Mankind Has Imitated It
"The earth is Yahweh's, and all its fullness, the world and those who dwell therein" (Ps.24:1, NKJV).
Yahweh our Heavenly Father is the Creator and therefore Owner of this great planet earth (Gen.1:1; Ps.24:1-2; Rev.4:11). By extension, as David testified, He also owns every living creature, from the tiniest microbe to the gigantic Whale Shark (Ps.50:10). He created, and therefore owns, the metals that establish monetary value in the earth (Hag.2:8). That makes Him the Creator and Owner of all wealth too, including every honest medium of exchange. He owns the bodies of humans (1 Cor.6:19) and our very souls, beings or substance (Ex.18:4). Indeed, there is nothing that is excluded from His ownership and kingship (1 Chr,29:11-12; Is.45:12; Col.1:16-17). Even the sin that mankind chooses is owned by Him and was paid by Him at the Cross of Calvary. He even owns the devil and all his fallen angels and will execute His judgment as to what will finally befall them. No one and nothing can excuse themselves from the sphere of His ownership because all were either directly created by Him or proceeded out of His Creation.
As Supreme Owner, Yahweh is entitled to delegate ownership and authority as a stewardship. He delegated stewardship of the earth to Adam and to mankind in general with obligations on our part to look after it (Gen.1:28). He delegated ownership of and authority over every married woman to her husband (Num.5.19; 1 Cor.11:10; 1 Tim.2:12) in the same way that He delegated ownership of the Messianic Community of Church to Yah'shua His Son (Mt.28:18; 1 Cor.15:24). Parents have authority over their children by the same token.
The great error of Heylel or Lucifer (who became Satan, the Adversary) was that he thought he could become like the Owner, usurping all the rights and privileges of the Creator (Is.14:12-14). Israel made the same error and behaved as though their possessions were their own private property (Mal.3:8-10). The Prodigal Son likewise claimed for himself the right of ownership of his father's property and treated the money as if it were his own (Lk.15:12-14). The Unfaithful Steward made no effort to be productive simply because he realised that what he was a steward over was not his own and therefore felt no obligation (Mt.25:24).
Today in our modern world wives repudiate the ownership and authority of their husbands in the same way that the vast bulk of antinomian (lawless) believers repudiate the ownership and authority of Yah'shua. Both husbands and Yah'shua have become token figureheads, if that. Governments, in the name of the ficticious entity they have created called the 'State', are now demanding the right to exercise the power of ownership and authority over people. Today Yah'shua is seen as the believer's 'buddy', a personal dispensing machine with the believer having few obligations beyond being 'loving' in a nebulous, existentialist sort of way. The state of both marriage and the Church/Messianic Community is testimony that Yahweh is not viewed as our Owner any longer. Considering who it is who owns governments these days, it does not take a genius to deduce who in the heavenly realm is the actual owner and ruler over the masses of the unsaved heathen and rebellious believers.
Lucifer's Error must be extirpated from the Body of Messiah if that Body is to remain true and qualify as the end-time remnant of the first resurrection. As owners and the owned, we must administer "the manifold grace of Elohim" (1 Pet.4:10) and, as we accept the Ownership Principle, and walk in true Tavnith (Pattern) inevitably be the recipients of that Divine Grace too.
