"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet
Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of Yahweh.
And he will turn
The hearts of the fathers to the children,
And the hearts of the children to their fathers,
Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse".
(Malachi 4:5-6, NKJV)

In the last revelation of the Old Testament, Yahweh tells us that a turning of the hearts of children to fathers, and vice versa, is of the greatest importance before the "great and dreadful day of Yahweh", when He comes to judge the earth. 'Fathers' are here used in the sense of ancestors, and not just the immediate two generations. This same sense is used in the famous passage about generational curses and blessings:

"For I, Yahweh your Elohim (God), am a jealous El (God), visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments" (Deut.5:9-10, NKJV).

For the most part (if not entirely), when we invoke the Name and blood of Christ in the breaking of generational curses, the only persons affected are those who connect with us back to the time of the cross and beyond to the flood. Those who existed before the flood were personally ministered to by Christ while He was physically in the grave but spiritually in hell (spirit prison):

"For Christ also suffered once for sins, the just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive by the Ruach (Spirit), by whom also He went and preached to the spirits in prison, who formerly were disobedient, when once the Divine longsuffering waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, eight souls, were saved through water" (1 Peter 3:18-21, NKJV).

"For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God" (1 Cor.1:18, KJV).

I choose the Anglo-Saxon and Celtic peoples as an illustration simply because they are an abundant people with great influence and power in the world and I happen to be of that stock and have in recent days been wrestling with my own ancestral ties. This intercession has taken me back to the ancient Egyptians (through Asenath), to the Germans (from whom the Saxons came), and to the French (who mixed with my Norman ancestry). My dreams and visions have been filled with these peoples of late. It began with the sun-worship of Asenath's father which lies strongly in the Anglo-Saxon soul, opposed only by the spirit of Joseph which has blessed this race through a thousand generations and beyond. As I shared in my first essay in this series, I found myself in my dreams walking through the ancient Egyptian lands and identifying with its heathenish spirit whilst at the same time being utterly repulsed by it. I went through deliverance for myself, cutting all ungodly ancestral ties to false religion, and invoked the blood of Christ to pass up through the generations back to Asenath and beyond, so that they might receive the Good News in spirit prison as the antediluvians did when Christ preached to them for three days and nights, as well as interceding for the living in my bloodline who may still be affected by these curses. Unlike in the false Mormon system where supposedly 'missionaries' on the other side of the veil preach to the dead who then wait for the living to do ordinances of salvation for them, this is all done supernaturally through the Ruach haMashiach (Spirit of Christ) which permeates all time and space. It is a calling and power that all believers have, just as we have the calling and power to forgive our enemies so that they can be free of their trasgressions against us, for fogiveness is not only required from Yahweh (who is offended by all sin) but from those who are offended. That is why this is commanded of us in the Lord's Prayer and is a condition for being forgiven by Yahweh.

The moment I had dealt with my Egyptian ancestors I began to deal with another family line, the German. The Saxons and Angles intermarried to form the Anglo-Saxon race, and these in their turn intermarried with Scandinavians, Normans and others. The British people have always been an assimilating people, as their descendants in the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and elsewhere have been also. Each time races intermarry, the progeny inherits both the blessings and cursings of those races. [I use the word 'race' rather loosely here since we are all, in fact, of one race - the race of Adam]. It is through such intermarrying that the blood of Abraham has been spread to all nations, kindreds and tongues across the world, so that they may be blessed.

Actually, I dealt with my German ancestors last night, which is why I am writing this 'fresh', as it were, purging all the curses from that people and retaining the blessings. And instantly that had been done, my French ancestry suddenly 'popped up' this morning and yet remains to be dealt with.

To your average Christian, this kind of 'ministry' must seem bizzare to say the least, as such things are almost never talked about. Yet John the Baptist came in the spirit of Elijah, and so strongly, in fact, that those who had been influenced by false pagan ideas even wondered if he might not be the reincarnation of the great prophet himself (Jn.1:21ff).

What is this "spirit of Elijah"? This is explained to us in the Gospels at some length:

"Then an angel of Yahweh appeared to him, standing on the right side of the altar of incense. And when Zacharias saw him, he was troubled, and fear fell upon him. But the angel said to him, "Do not be afraid, Zacharias, for your prayer is heard; and your wife Elizabeth will bear you a son, and you shall call his name John. And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth. For he will be great in the sight of Yahweh, and shall drink neither wine nor strong drink. He will also be filled with the Ruach haQodesh (Holy Spirit), even from his mother's womb. And he will turn many of the children of Israel to Yahweh their Elohim (God). He will also go before Him in the spirit and power of Elijah, 'to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children,' and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready a people prepared for Yahweh" (Luke 1:11-18, NKJV).

I should flatly state here that what I am saying has nothing to do with the Roman Catholic practice of praying for souls in 'purgatory' any more than it has anything to do with the whole Mormon system of ordinances for the dead. We do not deal with the dead directly, nor make any attempt to contact them, which is forbidden. The 'dealing' is done by Christ personally. All we do is break ancestral curses on ourselves and our families, through Christ, past and present, and let the Deliverer do all the rest.

An illustration may help. The following is a quotation from an NCCG.ORG sub-site concerned with ministering to Talmudic Jews:

My home town of Lublin was, before the war, a major centre of Talmudic Judaism. The Nazis built a concentration camp at Majdanek in 1941 and murdered most of them. The holocaust has made an indellible mark on the Jewish mind which will probably never be erased from their psyche. Many of their fears and complexes, and irrational and reflexive backlashes against criticism of their faith, stems from this horrific time. The story I am about to tell today will show a rather unfamiliar and unusual way to approach Talmudic Jews with the message of salvation but which I feel will characterise the path of witness which lies before us in these end-times.

A reason many people refuse to accept the Messiah Yah'shua (Jesus Christ) is because of family curses that may extend back many generations. Such curses are often also the cause of bad health, poverty, failed marriages, alcoholism, and so forth. For not only are Jews opposed by the powerful occultic spirit of Talmudic Judaism which keeps them in bondage, but also by a paralysing spirit of fear caused by such things as the holocaust. In the minds of most Jews, the Nazis were "Christians". Therefore to them Nazi = Christ. False though such an association is (for no true Spirit-born Christian would ever do such an evil), it is nevertheless a demonic block that has to be confronted.

I know a lady called Manya who came for deliverance ministry. During the deliverance session she felt inspired to pray for three of her deceased Polish-Jewish relations whom she saw in vision with her eyes wide open. She was astonished to to find that these three relatives brought with them hundreds of dishevelled Polish Jews, heads lowered, filing out of concentration camps and shuffling towards the altar in the Protestant Church where the session was being held. When Manya was about to walk up the aisle to receive the Eucharist (Lord's Supper), she felt impeded because it seemed to her that all the aisles were jammed with these refugees. As she continued to pray, Manya saw Yah'shua (Jesus) standing at the altar waiting to welcome them. They approached and looked up at Him and then started to dance and sing Halleluyahs as the angels led them up into a bright light behind the altar.

Even after the meeting was over, more refugees continued to stream up the aisle. Manya and several other people stayed in the church praying for all Jewish people although there had been no mention of Jews. They saw many of them being set free at the altar. Manya's husband, a minister, shared in this very real experience and was so much affected by it that he called together his congregation and held a Eucharist of the Resurrection when he returned home. He had witnessed how Yah'shua (Jesus) frees and releases those who come to Him not only during the Eucharist but outside it. Thus Yah'shua (Jesus) asks us to continue to love the dead (not try to communicate with them ... that's spiritualism and it is forbidden) for whom we have prayed, both during and after the Eucharist.

This kind of intercessory work is essential and is intimately connected with the spirit of Elijah even as it is recorded:

"See, I will send you the prophet Elijah before that great and dreadful day of the Lord (Yahweh) comes. He will turn the hearts of the fathers to their children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers; or else I will come and strike the land with a curse" (Malachi 4:5-6, NIV).

And with these words, which have baffled many and led to all kinds of strange doctrines (such as Mormonism's baptism for the dead) the Old Testament ends. The essence of this prophecy and commandment is that there must be a binding link between the generations through Yahweh. Again, I repeat, this has nothing to do with spiritualism or contacting the dead. Elijah preceded Elisha, whose ministry was one of judgment and redemption, to "Elijah" will be sent to prepare Yahweh's people for Yah'shua's coming. John the Baptist administered in this same spirit, "in the spirit and power of Elijah" (Lk.1:17; cp. Mt.11:13-14; 17:12-13; Mk.9:11-13) who was a prophet. It is the calling of end-time prophets to minister in the same spirit, not just on behalf of the living but on behalf of the dead through intercessory prayer. And whilst all those who accept Yah'shua (Jesus) as Messiah possess a portion of this spirit (since the testimony of Yah'shua/Jesus is the spirit of prophecy - Rev.19:10), we are all responsible for praying for our family lines.

Many believe that one of the two witnesses in Revelation 11:3 is the translated Elijah and this may well be true (the other being Moses) but more importantly these two end-time "spirits" will prevail over the remnant believers - the spirit of Elijah (healing the generations) and the spirit of Moses (the restoration of Torah and judgment).

The prophecy of Malachi is a double one. On the one hand, it looked forward to the first advent of the Messiah who was visited by Moses and Elijah (representing also the Law and the Prophets) on the Mount of Transfiguration in front of Peter (Kefa), James (Yak'ov) and John (Yochannan) and the judgment of Israel (Judah) for rejecting the Messiah. This rejection has resulted in the terrible sufferings of the Jews who were sent into exile (again) for nearly 2,000 years, as well as those gentiles (like the Khazars) who linked themselves to them by converting to Talmudic Judaism. This passage in Malachi therefore applies both to the First Advent of Christ as well as to the Second. And as believers we stand as an army of John the Baptists operating in the spirit of Elijah and called into intercessory prayer for the living, our ancestors, and the ancestors of others who come to us for help.

The land of Israel, then under Roman occuptation, was indeed struck with a curse and it became a barren and unproductive place for many generations. But the second curse, which is of world judgment, will affect the whole planet, as is graphically described in the Book of Revelation and elsewhere. The Book of Malachi is, in fact, a shadow of the Book of Revelation.

The story of Manya, and indeed of many others, brings hope to Talmudic Jews. It shows that Yahweh loves them and is offering them salvation and peace if they will but receive the Messiah Yah'shua (Jesus Christ). It has been my pleasure to lead Jews to Christ and to watch their spiritual transformation as they have accepted Yah'shua as the long-awaited Messiah. But it has also been my sorrow to watch many of them reject His Deity and to fall back into the demonic clutches of Talmudism with all its racism, hatred and murderous intent. We have a work to do that affects not only those who are alive in this world but those who are languishing in the world of spirits awaiting the resurrection. It is for us to turn our hearts forwards to the unsaved around us, and backwards to our ancestors in intercessiory prayer.

Egypt is one of the oldest civilisations there is. Those of us of Anglo-Saxon or Celtic descent, who are connected to Egypt, have a unique opportunity through the work of the spirit of Elijah, to be instruments of salvation, 'preaching' Christ, to people stretching back thousands of years, to the time of the Great Deluge. How this works I do not know precisely, except that it does, beyond a few general redemptive concepts. The Body of Christ is, after all, the whole family of Adam with those in the Great Ancestral Tree cut out who have rejected the Messiah. Yahweh is constructing a new family tree - the Vine of Israel - from which we are either descended or grafted in by adoption, and from which those who are descended, but reject Christ, are cut away. The sap that joins us all, and which nourishes and cleanses us, is the Blood of Christ.

Because those of us who are true believers are connected to the Vine of Israel, we connect our ancestors to it by virtue of the Vine of Adam. The problem is, ancestral sins get in the way and act like a dam. Once cut out, those ancestors who have never heard the Gospel can make a choice for Christ if they so desire, and so become grafted into the Vine of Israel in their own right. Those who do not, or have already refused, are disconnected from us psychically, thus freeing us from their evil influences, and them from the torment of being reminded of the holiness of Christ by virtue of those psychic ancestral connections to us.

Satan is able to exploit believers so long as they do not deal with the sins of the fathers. Therefore what must we do as intercessors in this spirit of Elijah?

"They stood and confessed their sins and the iniquities of their fathers. And they stood up in their place and read from the Book of the Law of Yahweh their Elohim (God) for one-fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped Yahweh their Elohim" (Neh.9:2-4, NKJV).

"O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let Your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those around us" (Dan.9:16, NKJV).

These things are not mere ritual. They involve heart-connections. Once, when lead by the Ruach (Spirit) to intercede for one ancestral group, I was weeping bitter tears for both their sins and their sufferings as though I had committed those sins myself, invoking the atoning blood of Christ for their healing, for people who have been dead for generations.

The Body of Christ is One - echad - so we are all responsible for one another to one degree or another. We have to live together as the Messianic Bride. Joseph is part of us, and so is Asenath. We are Israelites and Egyptians. If you have been accustomed to viewing Egypt as entirely negative and to be despised, you would be wrong. Egypt is Yahweh's also, as also Assyria (modern Iraq), and the day is coming that they will be one with Messianic Israel. For it is written:

"In that [Millennial] day there will be an altar to Yahweh in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to Yahweh at its border. And it will be for a sign and for a witness to Yahweh of hosts in the land of Egypt; for they will cry to Yahweh because of the oppressors, and He will send them a Saviour and a Mighty One, and He will deliver them. Then Yahweh will be known to Egypt, and the Egyptians will know Yahweh in that day, and will make sacrifice and offering; yes, they will make a vow to Yahweh and perform it. And Yahweh will strike Egypt, He will strike and heal it; they will return to Yahweh, and He will be entreated by them and heal them. In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and the Assyrian will come into Egypt and the Egyptian into Assyria, and the Egyptians will serve with the Assyrians. In that day Israel will be one of three with Egypt and Assyria -- a blessing in the midst of the land, whom Yahweh of hosts shall bless, saying, "Blessed is Egypt My people, and Assyria the work of My hands, and Israel My inheritance" (Isa.19:19-25, NKJV).

My prayer is that the Josephite peoples in particular, but all people in actual fact, will remember that what is important is loving all peoples and interceding for them. We can do this most effectively through purging our ancestral lines. Today I still love Egypt and Egyptians, and indeed Assyrians and Assyria, both because they are Yahweh's people and because I am connected to them by descent. It should not be forgotten that originally Abraham, the father of Faith, was an Iraqi (Mesopotamian) redeemed by Yahweh-Elohim! Satan would have you hate yourself by falling for the propaganda of misguided nationalism. All nations must submit to Yahweh's rule, there are none favoured save those who love and obey Him. Today all nations are a part of the world system - Babylon the Great - and we are not to be so indiscriminate as to exalt one nation over another simply because of our birth or racial origin. Abraham was told to leave his nation and begin a new one, and he did. We, too, belong to the Nation of New Covenant Israel - not the one in the Middle East, but one that is yet to be.

"You were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Messiah Yah'shua (Christ Jesus) you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ" (Eph.2:12-13, NKJV).

"Now, therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole building, being joined together, grows into a holy temple in Yahweh, in whom you also are being built together for a dwelling place of God in the Ruach (Spirit)" (Eph.2:19-22, NKJV).

The mission of John the Baptist, in the spirit of Elijah, was to cause wayward Judah to repent and change their ways. The mission of modern-day prophets is to cause the same in the House of Joseph - Ephraim and Manasseh - and set an example for the other tribes who are even now awakening from their deep slumber. Whatever nation or race you may come from, if you have embraced Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesuis Christ) as your Lord and Saviour, you belong to New Covenant Israel and to one of the twelve tribes by descent or by adoption. You are Israel today and are called to welcome Egypt and Assyria to your table.
