    Apostles and Missionary Work I

    Revelation on missionary work and the calling of apostles. The higher the call, the greater the demands placed on the disciple by the Lord, especially when he has obtained a testimony of his call and has covenanted to respond to it. Man is proud, stubborn, arrogant, and rebellious by nature, and these fallen qualities are a constant brake on all that is good, noble and righteous within him. This is particularly true of men -- but also for women brought up in cultures where male virtues are constantly imitated by them in their quest for imagined equality -- for whom humility and contriteness do not come easily. The revelations often appear quite harsh to those who are naturally attracted to the female, passive side of the Gospel. But this is because man is spiritually out of balance, his true male and female qualities having been eroded by decades of liberal philosophy and lifestyles. In reading revelations such as this, therefore, one should bear these things in mind. The New Covenant Church is but a branch of Christendom and not, as some early members falsely supposed, its exclusive representitive. Also see NC&C 192 [Cranleigh, Surrey, England].

    1. He who is contrite and broken-hearted shall not be slow in falling to his knees, saith the Lord, for he shall receive a vision of his true lowliness and will not wish to stand erect before his God.

    2. Why do so few saints stoop low, fearing to humble themselves outwardly as well as inwardly?

    3. He who refuseth to bend the knee is a proud man and is in need of repentance;

    4. And he who bendeth for show, or prostrateth himself that he may be seen and admired by others, is no better.

    5. I do not desire empty acts, saith the Lord, but a people full of humility1 and love.

    Prayer

    6. Do not fear to pray on your knees in My House, nor in your homes, but see that your motives are pure before you do so.

    Forget Your Traditions

    7. Forget your traditions, and the ways of the churches that raised you, except that which is in harmony with My will, and let your whole being -- body, soul and spirit2 -- give proper worship unto the Father.

    8. Ye have not learned the power of prayer, and most of you talk to Me as though I were a marble statue.

    God Desires to Endow His Saints

    9. But I am the Lord, and I am alive, and I earnestly seek to endow {anoint} you, yea, even all those who will become My true servants in word and deed. Not an Absent Visitor

    10. Let Me be the guest at your meet- ings and not an absent visitor, for I desire to be among you if ye would but receive Me.

    11. Ye should not be resting until all is done and the City of Zion [spiritually] has come down [from heaven], and the City of Zion [physically] has come up {been built}.

    12. Keep not silence anymore, but proclaim Me far and wide, the living Sav- iour.

    Evangelism is the Church's Life Blood

    13. Ye are all witnesses of My Name; if ye believe Me, why do ye not go out as messengers of the people, proclaiming My Gospel?3

    The New Covenant Branch

    14. If ye do not do these things, then ye shall wither away as a branch of Israel.

    15. Many are called but few will be chosen unless they hearken unto My commandments and eat pure meat.

    16. The apostle shall be measured with strictness and must receive his stripes if he is to be a valiant testator;

    17. Those who will not bear their stripes are not of Me.

    The Example of Christ

    18. Was not the Son of Man chastised for the iniquities of all the sons and daughters of Adam?

    19. I have set the example, saith the Lord, even Jesus Christ, and if those who have been called by Me will not live even as I did, then behold, they are not worthy of Me, and must needs be disciplined by the world.

    Apostles Called Again

    20. I am calling My apostles again, even those whom I have called before, and if they will repent, and take up their crosses, I shall forgive them and raise them up according to the promises.

    21. But if they do not they must needs stand still and decline, for they are denying the measure of their creation and the calling to which they were called before the foundation of the world.

    22. Hearken unto the voice of the Shepherd; if the sheep hear Me not, then it is not because I call them not, but because they will not hear on account of pride, stubbornness and rebellion.

    23. I am the Good Shepherd, and I have nothing but goodness to give.

    24. Therefore receive ye Me, yea, every one, and be sanctified. Amen.
