Mississippi Tales
Examining the Spiritual Landscape

The Official Flag of the State of Mississippi

    Introduction

Shabbat shalom kol beit Yisra'el and may the grace of our Master, Yah'shua the Messiah, be with you all. This second and last sabbath message comes to you this week from Mississippi in the United States.

    The Mississippi Territorial

Every time I arrive in a new country - usually at night when I have settled down - I pick up the territorial spirits (demons) of that country and of the area I am in. You would be surprised how different they are.

    The Spirits of Mormonism

I have visited the United States on three previous occasions, twice in Utah and once in Arizona and Nevada. Not surprisingly, Utah is saturated with the religious spirits of Mormonism and each time I have visited there I have seen vision after vision of them. On one occasion I was watching as thousands of these spirits were pouring into the Salt Lake Temple, drawn, no doubt, by the near constant flow of occultic neo-masonic ceremonies performed there. Appropriately, that building is adorned on the outside with occultic symbols like the sun-god and inverted pentagram, all 'hidden in plain view'. The trouble is, the spiritually blind can't see what's starting them right in the face.

    National Territorial Spirits

Being both a large city as well as the centre of Mormondom, it was to be expected that I would see a lot of spiritual activity. I have watched Satan's controlling demons in many countries when I have visited - the UK, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Netherlands, Denmark, Germany and others, to name but a few.

Vision of the Mississippi Territorial Spirit

I was not, however, fully prepared for what I would find in rural Mississippi, even though I knew a lot about the state. I was expecting to see all kinds of things based on my previous experiences. On my first night, what I saw took me by surprise. I saw this MASSIVE dark grey creature which at first I mistook to be a snake, but when I saw its smooth skin and the rounded shape of its head and mouth, I realised it was a gigantic amphibian of sorts, though nothing like anything I have ever seen in the natural world. When I say this creature was 'big', I mean BIG. It was vast.

    The Mississippi Beast

    Unclean Spirits

Frogs, which are amphibians, symbolise unclean spirits:

"Then I saw three evil (unclean) spirits that looked like frogs; and they came out of the mouth of the dragon, out of the mouth of the beast and out of the mouth of the false navi (prophet). They are spirits of demons, performing miraculous signs, and they go out to the kings of the whole world, to gather them for the battle on the great day of Elohim (God) Almighty" (Rev.16:13-15, NIV).

    The Beast of Mississippi

I was looking at this creature's head, which was no more than a couple of feet from me, and it felt as though the room I was lying in was 'full' of it. It had tiny, black beady eye on the side of its head that did not move. I could not see its limbs, if indeed it had any. I was aware that it was guarding the place. I sensed a heaviness, sleepiness, darkness, blindness, and inactivity. Nevertheless the beast was definitely awake though it never so much as twitched a muscle. It seemed to be brooding or sleeping, I couldn't tell, as though its mere size and pervasiveness was enough to maintain its spell.

The Bible Belt of the USA

Mississippi (MS) is Bible-belt territory and though there are several denominations here (United Methodist, Pentecostal, Church of God, etc.), the Baptist Church pretty much dominates the spiritual landscape, particularly among the white folk. Gail Riplinger and the rest of the KJV-Only crowd would have been - and probably are - very much at home here.

The American Bible Belt Corresponds to the Southern Confederate States

    A Baptist Regurgitates Riplinger

When I started a conversation on the NRSV (New Revised Standard Version) translation with a Baptist, a steel shutter came down and the old propaganda on 'Alexandrian manuscripts' and 'missing verses', learned by rote, was regurgitated. I sensed that a debate would not be welcome or accepted. I wanted to respond but the Ruach (Spirit) said "No!" Wrong time, wrong season.

When KJV-Onlyers Buy the Devil's Bibles

Amusingly, something James White, author of the important King James-Only Controversy book said - that folks buy modern versions to better understand their KJV - was verified: my friend admitted that he bought other versions "but only to read the commentaries". I had to chuckle. I mean, if all other versions are 'of the devil' and 'New Age Alexandrian counterfeits', then their commentaries must surely be devilish too . I said nothing. The cultic spirit cannot be met with facts and reason alone as I know from considerable experience.

    Warm and Friendly People

The South is steeped in tradition, much of it good. It is a warm and friendly place, for the most part, family values rate high and the people's generosity is legendary. I have met, talked and prayed with some lovely Baptist people here. So long as I didn't talk anything un-Baptist, I was treated royally. But 'new ideas' and 'new insights' (in reality, ancient ones), particularly in the realm of doctrine, are not usually welcome.

    Sacrosanct Idols

One discussion we had on the Sabbath, was brief (lasting about 30 seconds) and hostile. The 'Day of the Sun' is sacrosanct in Protestant Land with Wednesday following close behind in second place. And a discussion I could have had on OSAS (Once Saved, Always Saved) I stayed clear of as I didn't want to start a apoclyptic conflict although a fellow traveller was condemned as belonging to 'another religion' because he rejected it...pretty tough 'black-spot' talk considering we are all fellow believers.

    The All-Powerful System

The religious system is all-powerful and largely impervious to new light and emet (truth). Only patient systematic teaching over a long period of time, when trust has been built up, will make inroads. I can only imagine what would have happened if I had stirred that sleepy monster with beady black eyes. I had wanted to confront a pastor but the Ruach (Spirit) said, 'No!' I had, in any case, come for a funeral and and make connections, not to evangelise any but those already open and seeking. Home-grown nevi'im (prophets), properly anointed, are best left to give an Ezekiel-type witness when Yahweh commands it.

    Great Devotion

There is tremendous devotion to the Word, and particularly the Word in prayer...KJV version, of course. One Baptist preacher gave a wonderfully inspiring sermon on grace and salvation and on another occasion we had a very intimate and inspiring prayer and testimony evening with a Baptist sister and relative. In certain areas of the Besorah (Gospel) there is great strength and I saw the fruits of it, areas where I needed strengthening and developping in my own life. The preacher convicted me of a sin area in my own life for which I am grateful.

    Worldliness and Selfishness

There is little evidence of the overcoming life, little interest in self-surrender by the majority of Christians. Worldliness freely comingles and nobody things twice about it. Adults may be found who play games on their iPhones during services along with their children. There are individuals who are an exception, of course. There are many devoted believers whose lives are steeped in prayer. I have seen great and awe-inspiring faith amongst some Baptits and indeed I count many Baptist preaches and theologians as mentors. In the three weeks I was in the USA I devoured the Baptist Sword of the Lord Newspaper and brought some of the best ones home with me.

    A Large Baptist Church

Attending a very large baptist Church one Sunday, where many people we know attend, came as a bit of a 'culture shock'. Extremely well organised, rich (as adjudged by the Second and Third Worlds) and evangelism-oriented, I could well envisage being 'caught up' in its system were I around long enough. It reminded me so much of my brief days as a Mormon in my youth, perhaps because that was American and things were done in an 'American' way. I was actually quite shocked at the similarities even though doctrinally they are, of course, worlds apart.

    A Typical Affluent Baptist Church

    An Arid Lesson

The first speaker was crushingly boring and sounded as though he was reading verbatim out of some commentary. It was arid and I nearly fell asleep. He, at least (and one or two others), seemed to be enjoying it tremendously. There was no discussion, just a string of KJV passages, an analysis of several words from a Lexicon, and lots of repetition to make sure we got it. About the only thing I can remember from that spiritually dry encounter was that Yah'shua (Jesus) is the Rock and the Cornersnone...which I already knew.

    An Inspirational Pastor

The Choir and Soloists were loud and impassionated. And the pianist was brilliant. A couple of the songs were inspirational. The sermon, based on Psalm 119, was likewise inspirational, impassioned and humorous. The pastor was a good speaker and very motivational. He was, I learned from the people I spoke to, well loved. Without a doubt miracles took place there where emunah (faith) was exercised. I know, because I heard testimonies.

    Another Church With Problems

Down the road, at another Baptist Church, the story was very different. This was a church that had rapidly gone down hill in large part because of a poor choice of pastor. And it is true - if the head is sick, the whole body gets sick. Whether in assemblies or families, if you pick a bad husband or pastor, difficulties lie ahead. Problems and disasters attended that congregation including their building, which many had sacrificed to finance, being burned down...twice. I know several people from that church.

    Confederacy or Monarchy?

When I earlier compared and likened that big Baptist Church to the Mormon Church I very much had organisation in mind and the spirit that drives such organisations. Both are strictly pyramidal and hierarchical, both are run a lot like businesses...which is inevitable when you build large structures. I am not sure how many attended that Baptist Church but it must have been 1,000 to 2,000. Assemblies are supposed to be like families - small and intimate. This is lost in large institutions. That's not to say there shouldn't be large gatherings because extended family is important too. Israel was build on the foundation of families, clans, tribes and the nation, a model that applies to New Covenant Israel too. But Israel was also designed to be a confederacy, not a monarchy, and I guess what I saw in the Baptist Church I attended that reminded me of the Mormon Church was the monarchical structure. There's only supposed to be one Monarch, Yah'shua the Messiah (Jesus Christ) - the rest of the body is a voluntary confederation. You see the same issue reflected in the increasing federalistion of the United States which, though republican in name, is without a doubt monarchical and imperial now. The original Confederacy was far closer in structure to Israel than the Union which defeated and destroyed it.

The Southern Confederate States vs. Federal Union North

    A False Sense of Security

Going through the religious motions, thanks to the Once Saved, Always Saved dogma, both creates an artificial 'spirit' that dysfunctionally binds (like nationalism blended with religion) as well a false sense of security negating any sense for the need to wrestle and overcome. The Baptists are as well organised at the Mormons and programs keep the people very busy though they are diametric opposites when it comes to 'eternal security', so-called. The fundamentalist Baptists don't have to do any works at all to qualify for Heaven and so don't have to worry about the quality of their spiritual works whereas the Mormons never know if they have done enough to make the grade. There is a love for people but tradition muffles the emet (truth). You can only go 'so far' in such an environment and beyond a certain point of authentic growth what results is the infant gets bound to the cradle. You end up with spiritually stunted babies.

    The Fifth Column

False religion leading to spiritual compromise leading to a loss of discernment and an unwillingness to rock the boat of the system, leads to serious vulnerabilities. All kinds of dark forces find it relatively easy to conceal themselves in the persons of wicked souls dotted around the churches. I know for a fact that pedophiles and other evil men (including satanists) are given sanctuary in Baptist Churches here and that it's been going on for a very long time indeed. What better place to hide than under the mantle of a Christianity that can organise hiding places? Presidents do it, including the current one, who claims to be a Christian yet he has also said he is a Moslem socialist. He's certainly the latter but he is also more - an Illuminist and Satanist, in fact, like so many in the system now. Evil men ride on the backs of of misguided decent men to become a fifth column.

    Wolves Hiding in the Congregations

This is the dark underside to this region. The KKK is only one such representative. Racism is around too, sponsored by whites and blacks alike. Indeed I was shown a vision of two men with murderous intent bent on maintaining the status quo soon after I arrived. Yes, wicked men find a hiding place as respected members of Christian congregations, often with leadership positions, and in their communities. They occupy positions of authority in government (local and national), the police, the educational system, in hospitals and doctors' surgeries, child protection (social) services, and so forth. Many of these child rapists and abusers die and go to hell unrepentant because they are never confronted by those who know who they are but do nothing. Woe to those, cowered by fear, particularly pastors and those in leadership positions, who shelter these devils, often because of blood ties or dark dirty secrets, when they should be protecting the flock by exposing and removing these wolves. They become accessories to the devil's crimes. This is one of the problems of the extended family. Blood is too often thicker than water and is used to protect the evil deeds of relatives. Our first allegiance is to the Blood of the Lamb, not contaminated human bloodlines.

    Vision of the Blood

After the original vision I saw closed, a second opened up to me and I saw a grate in the ground, and through the grating I could see blood in a drain, still apparently fresh. Lots of it, much of it old. It was the spilled blood of people caused by warfare, lawlessness, racism, and the devilish acts of secret organisations. The land was verily cursed by it and it was giving the creature I had seen in vision the legal right to be there. It was literally lying over it, being its parking ticket to bring sorrow to the inhabitants of the land unwilling to combat it.

    No Spiritual Aggressive Spiritual Warfare

I had supposed that there would be a need to go into spiritual warfare mode when I arrived in America but I soon came to understand that I was, for the most part, only to be an observer on this occasion, sitting as we are at the very cusp of a terrible Judgment of this country. Yahweh and His hosts are to take all of this in hand very, very shortly and will be using intercessors already in the land. I had different tasks to perform this time round.

    The Imminent Judgments

I shudder at the thought of what is soon to pass. Those who do not want to awken to the emet (truth) by persuasion will find out by less kind means:

"I will pour her stones into the valley and lay bare her foundations. All her idols will be broken; all her temple gates will be burned with fire; I will destroy all her images. Since she gathered her gifts from the wages of prostitutes, as the wages of prostitutes they will again be used" (Micah 1:6b-7, NIV).

    Family Reconciliation

After praying with a Baptist sister (also a relative), which was some days ago, I was shown a vision of what Yahweh was doing. Before we left her, I was inspired to pray for reconciliation between two families united by marriage but divided by disagreements and unethical behaviour. Indeed the whole road, over a mile long, is named after one of those families. I had shared with the sister the importance of preparedness which she seemed to take to heart.

    The Plumbline Vision

That night following our meeting with this sister, I was awakened and shown a vision. I saw the road, along which I have taken a morning stroll at the crack of dawn most days while being in America, and on which this sister also lives, along with the relatives of both families. I was walking along the road in the vision in the direction of the sister's house and in front of me was this GIGANTIC plumbline moving ahead of me and swinging slowly in giant motions back and forth. As I watched this vision I understood immediately that Yahweh was going from house to house weighing each in the balance. Like every individual, family and nation at this time, Yahweh is passing judgment and the answer to my prayer would have to await His verdict.

    The American Election

Electioneering is in fully swing in America right now with Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton facing each other. I was listening to the Republican National Convention yesterday. The two cops are in place but neither of them will stay Yahweh's Judgment. As always, the wicked will hide behind patriotism and flag-waving. I do not know when I will be back here again. What I do know is that everything will be completely different if I ever am.

The Contenders for the Decisive 2016 US Election

    Conclusion

A parting word for those of you teetering undecided on the edge, unsure where to go...which direction to take:

"Do not harden your hearts as in Meribah, and as in the day of Massah in the wilderness. When your fathers tries Me, have proved Me, though they say My work. For forty years I was grieved what that generation, and said, 'They are a people who go astray in their hearts, and they do not know My ways.' And I swore in My wrath, 'If they enter into My rest...'" (Ps.95:8-11, ISRV 2e).

Your choice is between following the Joshuas, Calebs and the Last Generation Remnant in Messiah...and all the rest who are not. Amen.
