Section 170
Many Are Called But Few Are Chosen
A revelation addressed to the early saints gathering in the north countries (Scandinavia) though it contains principles applicable to everyone. Many are called but few are chosen. One of the greatest obstacles to men and women receiving the Gospel is not those things which are unlawful (such as dishonesty, laziness, and unchastity), even though these are a great problem in modern permissive society, but those things which are lawful (such as family, career, and friends). When that which is lawful in the eyes of God is set in front of the Kingdom they become an obstacle to salvation (Mt.6:33). The Christian faith is a sacrificial one. Those who were once enlightened and later rebell against the Light soon forget all they learned and return to their old, unredeemed ways. It is difficult to repent in darkness. Those who reject higher laws and principles should embrace lower ones though pride will never admit that something "lower" has been chosen. This is the final gathering before the Great Tribulation. Those to whom much has been given run the danger of a great fall if they turn away. No one should enter the New Covenant lightly, and enthusiastic Church leaders should never press anyone to join against their will because of the seriousness of the covenants. The meaty doctrines of the Gospel should never be served before the milk. The New Covenant Church is a House of Order and a House of Love [Oppsal, Oslo, Norway].
1. Verily, verily, saith the Lord: Many are called but few are chosen (Mt.20:16).
2. And why are they not chosen? Because they love the things of this world more than Me, and will not yield themselves up in sacrifice.
Obstacles to Being Chosen
3. For the love or hate of doctrines, family, honours, careers, and friends they stumble and fall by the wayside, being not firmly planted in the soil of My Gospel.
4. And for this cause many of the supposed elect are lost, and few return, for they were not the elect.
The Rebellious Forget What They Learned
5. Those who kick against the pricks and repent not must descend into further darkness until they have no remembrance of the Light which they once had;
6. And behold, they receive less than they obtained when they first entered the Light, for that which they spurn cannot come back to them without a great repentance and change in direction.
Difficult to Repent in Darkness
7. And it is more difficult to repent in darkness than in Light, save they yield themselves completely unto Me and lay down the natural man1 in death.
8. I, the Lord, am an Eternal God and cannot change My ordinances because of the whims and weaknesses of men.
Reject the Higher, Receive the Lower
9. If ye choose to reject the higher laws because ye are afraid of them, then ye must live lesser ones like unto the fallen churches of the world.
10. And every man is free to choose, even as he will.
Gathering for the Last Time
11. I am gathering for the last time; behold, those who will not receive My Gospel should depart in peace before they sow a snare for themselves and open the gate to the enemy.
Buffeted by Satan
12. But unto those who have received a greater Light by revelation and they then deny it, it shall not go well for them, for they shall be buffeted by Satan and dwell in an eternal twilight until they choose either the Father of Lights or the father of darkness.
The Danger of a Great Fall
13. Unto those who have been given the Firstborn Light there falleth a great responsibility, yea, and a danger of a great fall.
14. Therefore ye should not treat My Gospel lightly, but with great soberness and clarity of mind.
Do Not Quickly Lay on Hands
15. And for this cause have I commanded you to teach the doctrines of theKingdom until all who would receive this New Covenant, not hurrying to lay on hands to confirm {Chrism} (1 Tim.5:22), but doing things in wisdom and in the proper season.
Admit None Who are not Properly Taught
16. Some ye brought into the Covenant who were not properly taught;
17. See that ye do not these things again, for love's sake, that none might be [inwardly] fragmented because they understand not the nature of their covenants.
Always Serve the Milk Before the Meat
18. Beloved ones, see that ye greatly beware, for unless ye are obedient unto the pattern ye will become ministers of destruction and not salvation.
A House of Order
19. My House is a House of Order, saith the Lord, and I have ordered it so that all might receive My Light, each according to his or her ability.
20. Go forth and be obedient, deviating not to the left or the right, but take the course I have given you.
A House of Love
21. Uphold one another in love, and if ye will do this, many fruits will be borne in the future.
22. I am He who seeth all things, and there is not one particle I do not see, whether in men, beasts, plants or minerals, for I am in all, and I am all2.
Repent of Darkness
23. Repent of your dark thoughts, and your rebellions, and your unsanctified natures, for I am ready to receive all those who are open unto Me.
24. This is the Word of the Lord to the saints gathering in the North Countries. Amen.
