    A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

    A PET'S TEN COMMANDMENTS.........

    1. My life is likely to last 10-15 years. Any separation from you is likely to be painful.

    2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

    3. Place your trust in me. It is crucial for my well-being.

    4. Don't be angry with me for long and don't lock me up as punishment. You have your work, your friends, your entertainment, but I have only you.

    5. Talk to me. Even if I don't understand your words, I do understand your voice when speaking to me.

    6. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget it.

    7. Before you hit me, before you strike me, remember that I could hurt you, and yet, I choose not to bite you.

    8. Before you scold me for being lazy or uncooperative, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I'm not getting the right food, I have been in the sun too long, or my heart might be getting old or weak.

    9. Please take care of me when I grow old. You too, will grow old.

    10. On the ultimate difficult journey, go with me please. Never say you can't bear to watch. Don't make me face this alone. Everything is easier for me if you are there, because I love you so.

~Take a moment today to thank Yahweh for your pets. Enjoy and take good care of them.

Life would be a much duller, less joyful experience without Yahweh's critters.

~Now please pass this on to other pet owners. We do not have to wait for Heaven, to be surrounded by hope, love, and joyfulness. It is here on earth and has four legs!

lol, Clearly this was not written with regard to cats! I'll have to write one....
    Watch this space!

Lol, I hear ya! Cats are cats, aye. Love em but they don't exactly show the same need,(even though they really do need us) or affection that man's best friend does. I love cats, have had many many cats, but they are for sure independent little things.

They're right little killers, aren't they? ;) We have four of them and they are continually bringing their 'offerings' to us. Mouse problems are a think of the past but they still go after my favourite birds (wagtails) and after they killed one, and woudned another, chicken, it has meant we can't have chickens anymore.

what you gain on the roundabout (dead mice) you lose on the swing (no free range eggs anymore)!

Lol I love that picture, it's too cute. Hey I love cats too, just saying they are soooo different from dogs.

He's not known as The Terminator for nothing....

Good grief - makes me feel sorry for the mouse now!

Here are two our catkins (taken yesterday):

    Awww, whispering sweet nothings.

You got your Swedish and Danish mixed up ;)

This is NOT a pet but a thief in our garden stealing apples from our orchard

I did? Well, it's been 30 years since I left there, it's surprising I can remember anything really!
One of my fondest memories of Sweden is of a night in the depths of winter (when you used to get snow there!) on a night of the full moon. I was watching out of a window at all the animals that came into our garden from the forest to rummage under the snow for fallen apples. There were elks, deer and hares. The scene was just so wonderful. I've never seen anything remotely like it since. It will stay with me forever.

I guess having been here for 20 years the romance of thieving elks and the never ending winter and its endless snow has long since lost its lustre though with global warming winters have not been so severe. Did you actually live in Sweden or were you just visiting?

Here are some winter pictures from our home:

A few of my favorite home pictures - I love winter

We lived there for three years, in Dalarna. A village called Dala Husby, on the bank of the Dala Alven. I was only 10 when we moved there (1974). Your pictures bring back memories for me! Where abouts are you located? Is Avah your wife then? I noticed that those pics are posted by her.
