    Sermonettes 2
    WHO ARE YOU?
Explaining the Origins of the New Covenant Assemblies of Yahweh

Explaining who the Messianic Evangelicals are and where we come from has proved to be an almost impossible task but it is a question we are frequently asked now with our international outreach, even though it's one we've tried to answer before.

Every Church, Assembly or Denomination is the result of processes within processes within processes and is changing every day, some more quickly than others. NCAY has undergone a very rapid evolution in the decades it came into existence in 1987.

Many who have bothered to research us have come to the only definition that is possible -- we are Bible-believing and Bible-implementing Messianic Christians. We are united with all other evangelical Christians in the fundamental doctrines of the faith, especially in regard to the person of Messiah/Christ, and with Messianics in regard to commandment-keeping. We do differ from most mainstream (whatever that means) evangelical Churches on many of the secondary doctrines and with Messianics when it comes to rabbinical traditions.

This does not, however, present an obstacle to us in fellowship, nor vice versa for increasing numbers of groups. Indeed we have, throughout our history, formed many associations and co-operative ministries with evangelicals and messianics. What specifically unites us is the Ruach Elohim (Spirit of God), and whilst this has come to be somewhat of a religious cliché in the ears of many, it is a living reality to us. And as we have said many times before, I believe we shall be judged not by our theological orthodoxy or unorthodoxy (as adjudged by men) but on whether or not Elohim (God) has placed His Ruach (Spirit) in us and we are bringing forth the fruit of the Besorah (Gospel). Many would testify (who are not of our fellowship) that we have these things. Our only prayer is that we retain them.
