Sharing the Spoils of Battle
"The share of the man who stayed with with the supplies is to be the same as that of him who went down to the battle. All shall share alike" (1 Samuel 30:24, NIV).
These words were spoken by King David to the soldiers of his army after they had pursued the Amalekites. They had the idea that the spoils of war belonged exclusively to them, but they were wrong! According to David, those who faithfully served the cause of the Isarelites behind the lines were to be rewarded equally with those who were actually engaged in the fighting.
And likewise today in our spiritual warfare, all who serve Yahweh - whether at the forefront of the conflict or behind the lines doing the so-called menial tasks - "shall share alike".
We can be sure, therefore, that Yahweh is going to be fair with everyone - those who pray for us, contribute financially so that it can perform our commission, and are involved on the front lines preaching, teaching and administering the Word. He will reward His servants individually for their faithfulness in doing what they could where He has placed them. Yah'shua (Jesus) said: "For the Son of Man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then reward every man according to his works" (Matthew 16:27, KJV).
We want you to know how much we appreciate you and your prayerful help. But it is even more meaningful and encouraging for you to know that Yahweh Himself is aware of your part in the "battle". And He will recognise you for what you have done when the "conflict" is over and we are finally at home in our Father's House. Amen.
