Doing God's Will
by Basilea Schlink
If we wish to recognise God's will, we must first surrender our will and give up the desire to rule our own life. Only then can He begin to guide us in all matters. Learning to recognise God's will is a process, a matter of practice, but the first step is to make a resolution [covenant]. It is worth giving up and relinquishing everything we value in life so that we may truly love Him above all else. It is worth renouncing our will, our opinions and wishes; it is worth surrendering ourselves completely so that only His will, which he has revealed to us in His Word, is binding for us. Then He Himself will come and dwell within us, satisfying our longings, filling us with His love. He brings us all we desire in the way of help, answers and guidance.
This has been my experience ever since I receiced the precious blessing of the indwelling of Jesus.
