Q. I have this problem that I'm trying to fight everyday. I was into numerology until I discovered that this was a trap from the devil. I've been noticing so many repetitive numbers. Although some numbers do have spiritual meaning, biblically of course. A lot of Christians have these repetitive numbers like 44 and 33 which signify a type of meaning behind it. Like 33 was the age of Christ or 44 meaning judgment. I've had those repetitive numbers popping up out of number the beginning of last year. It made me fear but at times, doing some research, it made me have comfort, depending on the meaning of it. Now the cycle of numbers have switched in my life several months ago. I used to see only 33 and 44, after that I saw 11,22,33,44,55. Then 222, 333,444,555 in license plates or on other objects like billboards and such. It starting to appear everywhere on me where I was feeling a bit overwhelmed. At the time of noticing I was not in a good path and away from Christ. After coming out of a horrible relationship, I started to see odd numbers. Mostly 6,13,16,19,5,26,36,46,56, sometimes 606, 616, and a lot of 666 everywhere. I just reconciled with God about 3 months ago and I'm in the process of purification and healing and it's still a tough job to keep my testimony safe. I accepted the fact that I'll be going through terrible days because I know the devil prowls around seeking to devour me.

Anyways, about the second thing that bothers me is, superstition. I see crows nearby to annoy me, automatically making me think that something horrible is going to happen that will make me fall down to sin or anything that generates a problem that will make my heart fail. Always thinking that the enemy is searching out for me which I do believe but crows have been continuously following a lot before than now. They would caw outside letting me know that they're there, watching my every move to see what would be the perfect time to destroy my moment that would soon crush my entire day. I feel like wisdom and knowledge plays a part during those moments. I always fail. I used to think so much about superstition, as well as OCD that if I don't turn on the faucet 3 times, something terrible will happen my way. So that's basically what I'm still going through, it's been not bothering me too much like before because I'm managing to just ignore it and tell myself that it's just superstition and lies coming from the devil. Hope you can provide me with some answers and advice on what I should do more to avoid this.

I used to depend on this website, full of biblical numbers and every time I would see a number, for an example, 853, I would look it up on that website and it would mean "DEATH" 566 is the same message. These numbers would follow me and haunt me, feeling like I'll never make it. Can you help me? Thank you! (AM)

A. It's more than superstition, it's actually occultism (and therefore idolatry since you're choosing to trust in numbers for revelation and judgment instead of Yahweh). Your believing that numbers have power is an open door for the enemy to mess with you. Numbers have no power in and of themselves. It's your belief that they do that is the issue. You're transferring dependency on the Ruach (Spirit) from leading you to a dark power who is more than willing to oblige and play around with you.

Numbers are abstract concepts - they have no tangible existence. They're simply symbols. A licence plate is simply the registration number of a car, not a message. Most people get caught up with that sort of thing one time or another.

You basically have to stop believing the lie. Numbers and animals will always surround you. See them for what they really are, stop fearing them. Even the number 666 is just a number...the number after 665 and the number before 667. The fact that OTHERS invest meaning into them (like satanists and occultists) doesn't give the number any 'power' or 'revelatory capacity' - all you are seeing is what other human beings believe. The only things we are to believe are Yahweh Himself and object physical reality - all that's left is other people and other spiritual entities. Since you follow Messiah alone, focus on Him alone for all your inspiration. If you have died to self, He lives within you.
