CHRIST OR CHRISTMAS?
Exposing the Lie of an Ancient Pagan Festival
I always feel a heaviness in my heart when the Christmas season rolls along. "Why can't anyone get into the Christmas spirit?" an irritated woman asked me last week. Another colleague at work remarked: "I don't usually feel anything special at Christmas but when I heard a choir singing carols yesterday as I was returning home from work, I suddenly got into the mood." All around my work place Christmas trees, decked in lights, have begun to appear. The ceilings of the corridors are covered in large gold stars and painted fir cones. And a large golden pentagram sits atop the main Christmas tree outside the main office. The merchants began selling their Christmas wares at the end of November. Everywhere in town thousands of little lights are glowing on trees, in shop windows, and in homes. The post office is so crowded these days, as shoppers collect and post presents and cards, that I could hardly get in. The shops are crowded as people stock up with wine and various Christmassy items. You can see just by looking around you that a huge transformation has suddenly taken place. People are gearing up to party.
"Be ye valiant in contending against false doctrines, being firm yet gentle, that they who espouse the teachings of the fallen churches may know that your love is greater than the cords of death, and that I, Yahweh, am the Master of your words" (OB 107:8)
Though most people would ridicule the idea, Christmas is, in fact, nothing more than a form of witchcraft.
The Queen of Babylon, Semiramis, ordered the post-flood world to celebrate the birth of her son, Tammuz, who was none other than the sun god Baal, representing Satan. She set 25 December for Baal's birthday. Her astrologer told her that the sun was at its farthest point from the earth during the winter solstice, an occult high day. She told her people that on 21 December the sun, or Baal, dies. Then on 24 December, he starts coming back to life, and the 25th is his birthday.
As time passed, all over the world on 25 December, the sun was worshipped by these various names: Tammuz, Horus, Nimrod, Osiris, Sol, etc.. It was a time for orgies, sacrificing of babies to Baal, drunkenness, and merriment. Semiramis ordered trees to be decorated with little balls representing the sun.
Yahweh fought this evil holiday by forbidding His people to decorate trees as the heathen were doing: "Do not learn the ways of the nations or be terrified by signs in the sky, though the nations are terrified by them. For the customs of the people are worthless; they cut a tree out of the forest, and a craftsman shapes it with his chisel. They adorn it with silver and gold; they fasten it with hammer and nails so that it will not totter" (Jer.10:1-4, NIV).
When the Catholic Mass was first said on midnight, 24 December, around the year 394 A.D., it was called the "Mass of Christ", or "Christmas". The apostate religious machine of the day changed it from Baal's birthday to the birthday of Yah'shua (Jesus). The pagans loved it. It became the biggest day of the year for the Roman Catholic institution.
To hold the 800+ million members of the "Whore of Babylon" in spiritual bondage, Satan uses the mass (an imitation of the Lord's Supper). The Catholic "host", a thin circular wafer with the letters IHS and a crucifix inscribed on it, was stolen from the Egyptians who turned a wafer into their sun god "Osiris". That is why the Catholic host is in the shape of a sun.
Christmas is a festive time of lights, songs, Christmas trees, gifts, but also suicides and despair for the homeless. We see yule logs, parties, children waiting for Santa Claus to leave them presents. We see the Virgin Mary and a little baby, both with the sun around their heads. The Catholic Mass, an idolatrous pagan ceremony in which a wafer of bread is worshipped as though it were Elohim (God) Himself, mocks the First Commandment.
The Bible nowhere instructs us to celebrate Christmas which was instituted by the Vatican to link Christ to their idolatrous mass. Indeed, we are expressly commanded to avoid it like the plague, for a plague of evil it is, however sugar-coated it has become. Today Protestants, Mormons, communists, Jews and almost every type of person celebrates this unholy festival. Every Christmas a huge tree would be erected in Red Square in Communist Russia with a large red star atop it. So-called "Christmas", better called by its original pagan name, Brumalia, is in truth a festival for everyone but true believers.
Yahweh has commanded His people everywhere to separate themselves from the world system and all Babylonian practices. Christmas honours no-one but Satan himself. Attaching Christian terminology to a pagan festival makes it no more Christian than coating a cyanide pill with sugar makes that pill into a piece of candy. Do not be deluded!
Moreover, we should not use the same excuses made by Aaron and the children of Israel to worship the Golden Calf while Moses was away up Mount Sinai in order to justify Christmas celebration. We know what Yahweh's response to that was.
I wonder what you will be doing this Christmas? True Bible believers everywhere will be separating themselves from the festival entirely. We will not be attending masses or attending churches where the symbols of Christmas are present. We will not be exchanging gifts, sending cards, setting up Christmas trees and other decorations, or attending gatherings devoted to the day. We will be avoiding related festivals like St.Lucia (Lucifer) here in Scandinavia or Hogmany in Scotland. There will be no yule logs, holly, lights, or any other pagan trapping in our homes.
We shall be worshipping Yahweh in purity and emet (truth) according to the Bible as we do every day in our morning and evening devotionals. We will be preaching ahavah (love) and good will to all men and women every day of the year. We shall be preaching obedience and discipleship, warning against the evils of drugs, tobacco and alcohol. We will be preaching not of the birth of a baby Messiah, wonderful though that event was, but of a resurrected Saviour who saves the sins of those who will forsake Babylon (Rev.18:2), repent and accept His promises in emunah (faith, trusting).
I wonder what you will be doing this Christmas...?
