What is the Gender of the Ruach haQodesh? - NCCG.ORG Ning Network Archive 2008-10

Messianics are not agreed as to whether the Ruach is a Person or just a neutral Force or just Yah'shua's or Yahweh's own Ruach (or both); and they are not agreed as to whether the Ruach if He/She is a Person, is male or female. And finally, they are not agreed as to whether the Ruach is One Person, Seven Persons, a Sevenfold-Person or a Sevenfold Force. And I don't suppose we'll come to unity in a day over this question and many of us will just have to agree to disagree. Certainly I don't think this is a doctrine of salvation though I do at least think that recognising Her as a Person is pretty critical. It is a question that's been begging to be asked so I thought I would break the ice and launch into the subject.

First my own conviction: I believe the Ruach is Seven Female Persons, our Heavenly Mother(s) who are so echad (one) as to be viewed as One. I believe there is one over each of the seven Festivals of YHWH and one over each day of the week about which I have been writing extensively in my sermons. That She is our Heavenly Mother was revealed to me in a vision about 30 years ago long before I knew anything about Torah or Hebrew grammar or the translations issues surrounding the B'rit Chadashah Scriptures/New Testament, the first confirmation coming only recently (about 5-6 years ago) when James Trimm brought out his Hebraic-roots Version of the Scriptures confirming that at a minimum that the Ruach is at least grammatically feminine. Since then I have had numerous witnesses confirming what I have seen and studied. Quite a number of other Messianics have reached identical or similar conclusions though I realise we are in a minority.

I am including a longish article I wrote nearly seven years ago which is an overview of my understanding of the whole of the Elohim. It's been refined a little since. It's one of my early articles that does not always use the True Names so I hope you will excuse me for the omission - there are just too many articles for me to update just now.

As a footnote I wanted to add that I today more or less go along with Bro. Moshe Koniuchowsky's 'Greater and Lesser YHWH' thesis. I also wish to state that my own doctrinal position has nothing to do with Mormonism (which believed that the 'Heavenly Mother was a fourth member of their 'Godhead' in addition to a male 'Holy Ghost') or with New Age feminism and goddess-worship. I believe we are to worship the Father through the Son. Period.
