Curious terminology used by Apple and Intel
Posted by Yaacov on March 4, 2009 at 9:20pm in Science & Technology
The latest professional grade Apple computers use some ominous terms in their latest ad:
"Beauty outside.
Beast inside.
Introducing the new Mac Pro, featuring the Intel Xeon 'Nehalem' processor."
[Emphasis mine]
Of all the possible cool sounding names, Intel picks "Nehalem"?
Are they naming it after the Nehalem people?
Or are they doing a double entendre of the word "Nephalim"-- especially with it coupled with the term "Beast?"
Or is it completely unwitting and random?
