Homeschooling prohibits in the new schoollaw
Posted by Mats Rydin on June 15, 2009 at 12:02pm in Scandinavian Group
Hi,
The proposed new Education Act presented today prohibits
Homeschooling of philosophical and religious reasons, the most common
form of Homeschooling in Sweden and worldwide. This
now add Sweden to the exceptions in the Western world, in the same line as
Germany and the Education Act 1938. The law is extremely
strange because Sweden already has among the smallest number
homeschooled children throughout the Western world, only about 100 children throughout
country.
Education Advisory Council considers that it does not need to take account of
European Convention on Human Rights, which the parents
philosophical and religious beliefs regarding children's education
to be respected as "the teaching in schools should be comprehensive
and objective and thereby designed so that all students can participate. "
It misses completely the development of homeschoolarea not at all
about the content but of its forms. More and more
parents around the Western world have discovered that the school does not form
suitable for all children. Moreover, research shows that homeschooled
pupils do at least as well as students both cognitively and
socially.
The new Education Act proposal to Homeschooling by philosophical
grounds is prohibited. The only acceptable reasons will be practical
barriers to school attendance for a short period.
Sweden takes a deep step into the darkness of this becomes a reality. UN
Committee for Education will criticize Sweden from
human rights issues as it done with Germany. In the U.S.
homeschooles1.5 million children, or nearly 5% of all schoolchildren.
Sweden danger to the American point of view be regarded as a B -
democracy.Who homeschooled Americans want to travel to a country
where Homeschooling is prohibited?
It will be the battle over this. The public consultation ends on 25 / 9.
