MLT believes that both parts of the Bible, Tanakh (Old Testament) and B'rit Chadashah (New Testament) are infallibly inspired in the original autographs. We differ from most Christians in believing that the New Testament was originally penned in Greek and do not therefore regard that as the original autographic or receptor tongue, even though we regard the oldest Greek manuscripts to be important and useful. It is the belief of MLT that most, if not all, the original New Testament books were written in either Hebrew or Aramaic and then soon after translated into Greek.

There are a good number of translations available to believers these days and whilst MLT places a high premium on Messianic translations it regards Greek-based ones to be important too. We believe that there is no perfect translation into English, and that there probably never will be, and therefore take the position of the original King James Bible translators who stated that it is profitable to study a good many different versions.
