I received a reply by a very sincere guy on the internet, about the piece I sent out…Oh Lord…. Below I list his questions and my replies for your edification. I’ve changed his name to protect his privacy.

Thank you for your questions. Reading over your comments, it seems to me that you are not clear about the difference between temptation and sin. Temptation begins in our thoughts. Resisting them strengthens us, giving in to them leads to sin and its wages, death. Temptations and ungodly thoughts are not sin unless we willfully feed on them.
Jas 1:12 Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
Temptation is not sin. Let me get to your questions if I may:
Sin is a willful transgression of Yahweh’s law.
1Pe 4:1 Forasmuch then as the Messiah hath suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves likewise with the same mind: for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin;
1Pe 4:2 That he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
1Jn 3:9 Whosoever is born of Yahweh doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of Yahweh.

Thoughts only become sin when we dwell on them. I have occasional thoughts that I wish never came. But as soon as I identify them as such, I quickly dismiss them and pray for the Lord to keep me from sin.

I do. I guard my vessel very carefully. I set no unclean thing before my sight, I let not foolish and ungodly dialog be spoken into my ears. We have no TV, do not go to movies, do not read newspapers or magazines. The news I do get is usually from the front page of Yahoo. I read the headlines and will occasionally read an article, usually that involves government and world affairs. All sports interests are gone. I do not read many books outside the Bible. The ones that I do read, I’m led by the Holy Spirit to read. The same goes for so called “Christian material” online. I’m very selective about what I read. So, yes, I’m dead to the world and the world is dead to me.
Col 2:6 As ye have therefore received the Messiah Yah’shua, the Lord, so walk ye in him:
Col 2:7 Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Yes. I do not willfully disobey Yahweh. I also obey the laws of man, respect speed limits, etc. Brother, I live for one purpose only, and that is to glorify Yahweh with my life. It is who I am when I get up in the morning, and when I lay down for sleep at night. He is my all in all, and all sufficient Savior. His grace and mercy have brought me through. Thanks be to Yahweh!
To know to do good and not do it is also sin. So I pray to hear Him and follow the leading of His Holy Spirit within me.
You asked: “Are you 100% PURE in HEART?,”
Yes I am. Do I have carnal thoughts? Yes I do, but again, I do not dwell on them. The further along I get in this walk, the fewer they are in number and frequency. “Immoral dreams” have also subsided. I wash my mind with His regenerating Word. I try to keep my spirit filled to overflowing with Him.
So what does this make me? I try with all of my being to be an obedient servant. Any success I have is only in His power and strength. Does any of this save me? Of course not. I’m saved by grace through faith in the shed blood and finished work of the Messiah, Yah’shua. I do what I do because He has saved me. He has empowered me. I am crucified with Him. I shall also one day reign with Him. I have already been made to sit in heavenly places with Him. Glory to Yahweh.
Eph 2:5 Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with the Messiah, (by grace ye are saved;)
Eph 2:6 And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in the Messiah, Yah’shua:
David, I know you are sincere, and I so respect your questions. Please believe the Bible for what it says, not what others say it says.
Col 2:13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
How can one be dead to sin, and still live in them?
Col 2:20 Wherefore if ye be dead with the Messiah from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances,
Col 2:21 (Touch not; taste not; handle not;
I am not subjected to these things. Messiah is the fulfillment of all the ordinances. But He established the law afresh. In the sermon on the mount He specifically addressed some of the commandments and discounted what man added to them, but He Himself also added more intense understanding of the law of Yahweh. The ordinances are after the commandments and doctrines of men, beloved, and the ceremonial sacrifices of animals and such.
Col 2:22 Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men?
Col 2:23 Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.
That DOES NOT set aside the Commandments of Yahweh. It is impossible to be like Yah’shua, ie, a disciple of His, and not be obedient. He was obedient in all things, even death on the cross.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
Col 3:3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Messiah in Yahweh.
Col 3:4 When the Messiah, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
The church today is so “sin soaked” with their affections of things on the earth, their consciences have been seared and no long trouble them. They are indifferent to sin. Please consider what Paul said:

Rom 6:1 What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
Rom 6:2 Yahweh forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?
Can you find me one scripture where it is ok for the child of Yahweh, born of water and spirit, to keep sinning and hide under “grace”?
Rom 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Yah’shua the Messiah, were baptized into his death?
Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Messiah was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
How can anyone say they are walking in “the newness of life” while still living in the same old sin? To me, sir, that is blasphemous.
Rom 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Rom 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.
Rom 6:8 Now if we be dead with Messiah, we believe that we shall also live with him:

If your old man is dead, how is it you (not you specifically) still live in sin? Dead is dead. Death is a one way thing. No coming back (except in the resurrection). I do not live in sin, nor do I keep anything around me that is toxic to my relationship with God. I do not feed my flesh in any way, shape or form. It is amazing, Sam, how much peace I have since I have been crucified with Him….February 26, 2009. Many can tell you about the war between flesh and spirit within. Sir, when you put flesh to death by choice as an act of faith, the war stops! You have peace with Yahweh. And peace within. Alleluia!
Rom 6:11 Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto Yahweh through Yah’shua, the Messiah, our Lord.
This is not fantasizing, this is life in Him. Real life. Abundant life. Dead to sin and alive unto Yahweh!
Rom 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
This and so many other scriptures like it have got to be removed from the Word of Yahweh if it were not capable for Yahweh to empower us to have victory over sin. The problem is, we are often lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of Yahweh. We want our flesh feeding HDTV’s, our sports addictions, our immoral thoughts, and all of that yuk, more than we want to obey Yahweh. We want one hand nailed to the cross, and one hand in the world. Sir, I cannot support such a lifestyle in the Word. Either believe it and live it, or throw the whole thing out!
Rom 6:13 Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto Yahweh, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto Yahweh.
Paul just goes on and on about it. Read the whole thing for yourself.
Rom 6:14 For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace.

We are not under the just punishment of the law, but grace enables us to be obedient to it, and to Yahweh. People use this one verse to try and hide their carnality behind it. Well, they may hide it from a man as a hypocrite, but they shall not hide it from Yahweh. The law is only troublesome to the lawless. The obedient do not mind the law at all.
Rom 6:15 What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? Yahweh forbid.

Guess what Sam? Yahweh forbids!
Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
What are you to obey, Sam? The law of Yahweh of course.
You simply cannot be a servant of sin and be a servant of righteousness at the same time. It cannot and shall not be. Yah’shua Himself said we cannot serve two masters. Those who claim to be saved and still continue to live in sin are deceived and they are liars if they say Jesus is their Master. They continue in sin because they “choose too”, not because they cannot help themselves, as with the old nature. That is precisely the problem. They are still living by the old nature, by choice. If Jesus is not your Lord, He cannot be your Savior!
Rom 6:19 I speak after the manner of men because of the infirmity of your flesh: for as ye have yielded your members servants to uncleanness and to iniquity unto iniquity; even so now yield your members servants to righteousness unto holiness.
Does Paul continue to ask the impossible?
Rom 6:21 What fruit had ye then in those things whereof ye are now ashamed? for the end of those things is death.
Guess what? Nothings changed. The end of those things is still DEATH!
Rom 6:22 But now being made free from sin, and become servants to Yahweh, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of Yahweh is eternal life through Yah’shua, the Messiah, our Lord.
I don’t know how it can be any more obvious. Those who claim to be believers, and still feed their flesh and it’s sinful death giving desires, are liars. They are deceived and they manipulate the Word of Yahweh to suit their own lusts. Tragically, they do not manipulate Yahweh and will face Him one day soon.
