    Mercy triumphs over justice!

Matthew 18:32-35 Then his master, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee? And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him. So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

In the parable of the unmerciful servant, the servant mistakenly thought that he could demand justice from another servant all the while asking mercy for himself from the king. When the king found out about this servant's awful behaviour, he became enraged and said to him "You wicked servant, I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to; couldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?" He then went on to hand the servant over to the tormentors. Jesus closes this parable by saying that this is how our Heavenly King will treat each of us unless we forgive our brother from our heart." Ugggh. Harsh words. But Yahweh will not put up with us desiring mercy for ourselves, while we lack forgiveness for others and desire judgment upon them.

It's natural for us to desire judgment upon those who continually wrong us. But we, as believers, have to remember that judgment against others is Yahweh's privilege alone. We are not to judge or wish judgment upon others. We are to pray for Yahweh's mercy upon them in salvation.

Has someone offended or hurt you today? Let's choose to forgive and pray for their salvation. Blessed is the man who overlooks an offense!

Amein! Afterall, if we, as disciples of Yeshua don't fulfill our comission while we are here, and plant those seeds of love and forgiveness, how then can our Father in Heaven begin to prune and water one that we have planted that seed with and bring he/she into His Truth? If we continue to show love, like Messiah did to us, no matter what, believe me, those seeds are planted, I know, I've seen it with my eyes numerous times. Glory to the Lamb of YHWH! What a precious, beloved Master we have in Yeshua!

    Rivkah

Jason, I agree with all of the above, well stated.
    In Yeshua, Rivkah

    Jason said:
I know what your going to say Lev, Hezekiah is a poor example. What I am trying to say here is that just because we are forgiven, things still have to be made right. Just like our own journey is a proccess to strip away all the old layers and have our minds renewed. Jer 32:18 who show kindness to thousands, and repay the crookedness of the fathers into the bosom of their children after them – the Great, the Mighty Ěl, יהוה of hosts is His Name,

Actually I quite agree. Not only is there the law of restitution (which is based on Justice) but there are laws concerned with legal rights granted demons when we break commandments. Then there are biological and physical laws to be reackoned with. Thus drug addicts who are delivered and healed by grace often have to cope with diminished biological functions because parts of the brain have been destroyed.
