    The Essence of Deliverance

    Posted by Lev/Christopher on June 18, 2009 at 3:25am
in Deliverance, Psychiatry & Demonic Oppression

"Deliverance is very simple: it is (1) About totally surrendering to Yah'shua, and (2) identifying root lies as part of that surrendering. The root lies block our full surrender so it all boils down to wanting and having a right heart. When our behaviour contradicts the pattern revealed in scripture, we have our open door to deliverance. If the same behaviour pattern results then we have either not discovered the root lie or we deep down don't actually want to surrender - or (and it's usually) both. When our heart does not want to surrender it pursues long and complex intellectual paradigms that only a brilliant professional could ever solve, and are thus actually (in a round about sort of way) saying that they don't want deliverance (because the flesh is in charge and is 'arguing' its case). It is never more complicated than the intellectual ability of an average child and it always requires the heart of a little child simply running up to Yah'shua" (Lev, 18 June 2009).

I don't think its all that simple. It really depends on the situation/circumstances and the maturity of that individual requiring deliverance. When it comes from generational then thats a lot of rooting up to work with and I think that individual needs support from strong and yet compassionate believers of that same gender most times.

Where there is lack of maturity, Torah gives certain legal rights to those acting in a fatherly capacity. I have experienced spectacular deliverances where such legal rights are appropriated by spiritual fathers giving spiritual covering. In fact, it happened recently when I was dealing with a child who had experienced the trauma of sexual abuse. It required no interviewing, reliving experiences (which I generally discourage anyway) and understanding root issues - just stubborn anointed prayer casting out demons leading to deliverance in seconds that might have taken months or years in older, maturer people. There was a complete transformation of personality, peace and release without the child haviong a clue what had happened.

My point is that maturer people tend to make things more complicated than they really are, with their fleshy nature actually enjoying the intellectual engagement and attention. I do understand what you are driving at. When I first entered this ministry I spend years hacking at branches and being sidetracked by the agendas of the flesh instead of getting to the root - and the root, in my experience, is usually very simple, revolving around issues of worth and a lack of love.

As for generational issues, I am not sure what your experience is - on the demonic level, it can be uprooted in minutes provided their is a willingness to surrender to Yah'shua. In my experience most people coming for deliverance want deliverance from oppression but don't want to truly die to self and give themselves unreservedly to Yah'shua. And that can often give the appearance of being a maturity issue. On the other hand, old habits do tend to take a bit of time to change but this, I believe, happens more as a result of daily applied discipleship than any direct, interventive 'deliverance' per se. If that is what you mean by strong support from strong compassionate believers, then I absolutely agree with you. You can't effect a deliverance of someone and expect them to fend for themselves. Many biological adults have to learn all the skills of emotional adulthood through the usual learning steps that children do. If there isn't a strong, supportative spiritual family, then often deliverance can be in vain. So, yes, you're absolutely right on that score!

I should love to hear of your experiences and hope you will feel free to share. I have appreciated your writings elsewhere.

    Shalom Gail,

I agree, there are so many things to take into account, and we are not saying it always happens overnight, and yes people indeed need support, encouragement and love. That is why we believe in spiritual adoption if you will, taking one under our love, support and covering. We know from experience that full healing and deliverance can take time, however, what is required IS simple and that is Surrender. Nothing happens until that happens and if people are only seeking relief from the pain and are not willing to surrender their life to Yah'shua, they will go away frustrated and many times angry with those trying to help them.

Yah'shua never argued with the demonic, His focus was on the individual, just as ours is. I was very, very lost, both in mind and spirit, and there was layer upon layer, not to mention generational issues to deal with. It did take me some time, but most of that time was spent learning to trust those who were trying to help me. Yah'shua's part WAS simple. I came to Him, afraid of rejection, instead He embraced me and loved me, right then and there, right where I was. His love broke through years of pain and spiritual bondage in a moments time. Was I completely free? No, there were still things to deal with, and He brought those things up as I was able to deal with them. BUT, there was an intial heart changing, life changing encounter, which is key and certainly what we want for everyone.
