Are we supposed to challenge Mary's virginity? I won't discuss whether she had children later on, but Yeshua was obviously conceived through virgin birth.

Reminds me of the catholic excuse of using pre-fall Adam and Eve as motif, so that one can paint nude bodies, which was a very famos loophole through the laws forbidding or regulating the making of nude pictures in the middle ages.

Then there was the other loophole through such decency laws: calling it "high art".
"Even" in the middle ages one could make nudie statues of pagan gods, as long as they were Roman or Greek, and half-way presented as an excusable, nationalist endeavour.
Today we such high art pictures as "Piss Christ" which is a picture of a statue of Jesus in an aquarium of urine if I remember correctly.
