I think what he is doing is awesome! I have mixed emotions on the gun issue, and yet if it were one of my children, I would do everything within my power to get them home safely. It's just horrific what is happening there to all those innocent children and their families.

If my child were out there and a slave of some crazy gang of murderers I wouldn't care less whether he was rescued by a preacher with or without a gun. Who else is out there to help these victims? I think of Abraham rescuing Lot. This is one of those perennial dilemmas.

I believe we are to defend the defence-less.

Maybe it was King James who greatly advanced the doctrine of pacifism that has led to the doctrine of the dis-armed. How dare any but the Elite to carry an instrument of defence?
If any "WarLords" should ever come to steal and destroy your family it will go better for them if you are defence-less.

Pro 24:11 If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;
Pro 24:12 If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

Joh 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Joh 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Perhaps this is a little out of context nevertheless thought provoking:
Heb 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.
