Unity of the Body - Teaching

Personal blog posted by Lahry Sibley on October 21, 2009 at 9:37am

I did not write the following. But Yahweh has been dealing with me about this for quite some time. I am certain I could not express this truth as well as my brother has below. The writer is responding to another poster on another forum. Prayerfully listen to what is being said, beloved. This is truth and light!

    Lahry
    *******************************************************************
This is a post that I made on another site. Someone was defending the differences of the denominations, saying they had essential unity in their salvation. I addressed this with my own post, which a post here as well, in order to share it with all of you. Comments are welcomed and even invited. This is a long post.

While I agree that there is are differences and that these differences today can cause frustration between those unwilling to accept another's practice of our faith, I don't believe that the differences that separate us are a hindrance to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. I'll give my reasoning.

Entrance into the eternal promise of God is contingent upon one thing, and that one thing is faith in Jesus Christ. Though all denominations have intricacies here and there that cause them to differentiate themselves from one another, the one thing that all Christian denominations have in common is the one thing that saves; faith. Quote by Jon-Paul
    _____________________________

"Last week we spoke of the “new thing” God is stirring in the body of Christ." Wow. I am not sure where to begin. I guess I will begin with love. Jon, Richard... I do not wish to speak harmfully against either of you, the men. I do want to address thoughts, beliefs and ideas. I am going to try to address these ideas without speaking against you, the person. This may be harder than you might understand, because God has employed the concept of 'personification' in His method of creation and taxonomy. In other words, God calls us by what we believe. Please allow me to give an example:

Mat 13:24 He put before them another parable, saying: The kingdom of Heaven is compared to a man sowing good seed in his fields.
Mat 13:25 But while the men were sleeping, one hostile to him came and sowed darnel in the midst of the wheat, and went away.
Mat 13:26 And when the blade sprouted and produced fruit, then the darnel also appeared.
Mat 13:27 And coming near, the slaves of the housemaster said to him, Sir, did you not sow good seed in your field? Then from where does it have the darnel?
Mat 13:28 And he said to them, A man, an enemy did this. And the slaves said to him, Do you desire, then, that going out we should gather them?
Mat 13:29 But he said, No, lest gathering the darnel you should uproot the wheat with them.
Mat 13:30 Allow both to grow together until the harvest. And in the time of the harvest I will say to the reapers, First gather the darnel, and bind them into bundles to burn them, but gather the wheat into my granary.

This is the base-line text. It is a parable given by Jesus. It is one of seven parables taught by Jesus in one session, all contained in Matthew 13. These seven parables are all about the same subject, "the kingdom of Heaven is like..." These seven parables, taken together as they are taught together, form a complete thought being communicated by Jesus, to man, as a warning about how the kingdom of Heaven (kingdom of God) would operate. In case there is any confusion, Matthew uses the term kingdom of Heaven, while Luke, Mark, John, Paul all use the phrase 'kingdom of God'. This kingdom, it was taught by Jesus, is now. We live in this kingdom. This kingdom of God is literally translated from the Greek as "reign of God." This reign of God, as it is meant in the Greek, is not over a territory, but over a dominion. In the Greek, the literal translation is best described as "reigning by God over His dominion." This is just as Jesus taught, so the Greek is very accurately used by the N.T. authors. Jesus says that this reign does not come visually, but is within us. The kingdom of God is the reign of God over our inner man. In this kingdom, we are known by what we believe. Please allow Jesus to make this case Himself in His explanation of His own parable:

Mat 13:37 And answering, He said to them, The One sowing the good seed is the Son of Man.
Mat 13:38 And the field is the world; and the good seed, these are the sons of the kingdom; but the darnel are the sons of the evil one.
Mat 13:39 And the hostile one who sowed them is the Devil, and the harvest is the end of the age, and the angels are the reapers.
Mat 13:40 Then as the darnel is gathered and is consumed in the fire, so it will be in the completion of this age.

If you did not know, the bearded darnel, Lolium Temulentum, is the name of the plant called the 'tare' in the KJV. Tare is a nickname for a very real and very present plant. The tare, or darnel as it is named, is identical to the wheat in almost every way. It is not until the seeds ripen, and the husk opens, that you can tell the two plants apart. The seeds of wheat are golden in color. The seeds of the darnel, or tare, are identical to a wheat seed in every way accept one - they are black. I believe that Jesus created all of the attributes of wheat, and that Jesus created the darnel plant, at the time of creation for the specific purpose of teaching us a very important lesson. It is not coincidence that Jesus can look around himself during His earthly life, and use daily things to teach lessons about the things unseen. Paul says that God created the things we see, purposely to be an image of the invisible things of God, so that man may be able to see with his eyes, and therefore has no excuse before God. In this manner, the wheat seed was created to be golden, and the darnel seed was created to be a host to a deadly and poisonous fungus that colors the seed black. When eaten, this black darnel seed causes sickness and drunkenness. The French, who are also troubled by this plant, call it "drunkenness" in their language. The Romans, who were troubled by this plant, called it "blindness" in their language, because of the effects that this seed has when eaten. Using His creation, planned since the Spirit hovered in consideration over the void earth planning all that would be created and accomplished, Jesus teaches us a lesson. Jesus says that HE is the wheat seed that must be sown in the ground and die, that it might produce a crop that is reproducing after Himself. Jesus taught that the Devil also sowed his seed in order to reproduce after the devil, and that this seed is identical in all ways to the wheat, except that it produces a different colored fruit. Jesus says that He is the seed of wheat, in another passage. Jesus says that He is the sower in this parable, and that true Christians are the wheat. The Word of God is the seed, and we BECOME the seed of wheat, when we believe the Word of God. God calls us by what we believe. The Devil sowed his seed to, his doctrine, his corrupted version of the Word, and those that believe this corrupted version are known by God as "Children of the wicked one." God calls the wicked, by what they believe. It is not just that Christians are called by what they believe; it is that they are called by what they DO. For we DO, based on what we BELIEVE. Our hands do what our mind believes. This is why the MARK of God is in our forehead, and on our hands. The doctrine of God is in our foreheads, and shown by the works of our hands. In the same way, the mark of the beast, the devil, the red dragon, is in our foreheads, and on our hands, because a child of the wicked one believed the doctrine of the devil and his hands do the things that the mind believes. We are known by our fruit. It is not coincidence that these different parables are all in harmony, because Jesus was of one mind, and was in perfect unity with himself, the father, the Spirit and all that He created to use as metaphors in His parables. So, to make a long explanation short, if you believe the doctrine taught by Jesus, he knows you as the wheat. This is personification. If you believe the doctrine of the tares, the darnel, then God knows you by this belief that you hold, and this too is personification. So, you are known by God, and called by God, by what you believe. And what you believe will become evident by the works of your hands, and this is called works. A tree is known by its fruit. You are known by your fruit. So, in tackling this conversation, it becomes hard to address what you believe, without addressing you, the person.

I did not share about Matthew 13 just to show personification. It was for another purpose, a dual purpose. Matthew 13 has six other parables. Three of these other parables are warnings about all the false believers that will be among us in the kingdom of Heaven. Those with stony hearts are also in the kingdom of Heaven with us. These people with stony hearts are spiritually dead, but are among us. Those that had good soil and received the Word, but also did not expel the cares of the world and the deceit of riches, are also among us, and their wheat is choked out. There are also those that do not understand among us, and fail to come to understand, because unclean spirits of the enemy reside in men who also are in this kingdom, and these men with unclean spirits snatch the truth from those that do not understand, and feed them tares to keep then drugged, sick and drunk.

Also taught by Jesus, in Matthew 13, is that there is a woman, who took three measures of flower, and mixed a little leaven into each measure, until the leaven spread to every single particle of the flour. This is what the kingdom of Heaven is likened to by Jesus. This woman intentionally HID the leaven in the flour, to corrupt every particle of it with death and decay, to make the bread that is baked mostly hot air that separates the particles of wheat one from the other. You may like fluffy, airy bread, but God says that leaven is a type, a shadow, a metaphor for sin. In Matthew 13, Jesus also tells us that HE is the mustard seed that is smaller, more humble, lowest in stature of all the seeds of Israel, and that HE would grow to become a mighty tree, and that birds of the air would come and live in this tree. This is not a pretty picture as many believe. These birds of the air are 'unclean spirits of the air' in other teachings of Jesus and the apostles. In Matthew 13, in the first parable, we see that these birds eat and destroy wheat seeds to keep them from growing. These birds live in the kingdom with us, and destroy truth as soon as it sown, so that it cannot be understood. In the third parable of Matthew 13, Jesus says that "a man, the enemy" did this, and then tells us the enemy is Satan. Jesus is telling us that MEN sowed the false tares, and that they were sown by Satan. Satan works in his spirit through men to sow false doctrine, and through men to destroy the truth when it appears. This is also shown to us in the darnel, for the darnel seed is not black of its own accord, but is week in itself and unable to resist the fungus that it hosts. The darnel seed is man, the fungus is the spirit of the enemy within those men.

Why do I share all of this? It for this purpose: unless you understand what Jesus taught, you will not see the nature of the problem, or the problem itself when you speak about unity and the body of Christ. The kingdom of Heaven is comprised of two kinds of people: those that accept Jesus and then fail in any of a number of manners, and produce works of sin; and those that accept Jesus and keep the knowledge of Him and His doctrine in purity, and have no works of sin, but are holy, spotless and pure. Let me show you another clear analogy that God uses, and Jesus teaches, that shows this clearly. There are two metaphorical women spoken of in scripture: the bride of Christ who is holy and pure, without spot or wrinkle; and the woman Babylon, who fornicates against her betrothed, is wretched and filled with every type of sin. Both of these women are shown as betrothed to Jesus, both of these women are comprised of people who accepted the marriage proposal of Christ. Both of these women are in the kingdom of Heaven. One of these women, and all who she represents, is divorced. These who receive a bill of divorce for fornication, a divorce from the betrothal prior to the final wedding supper, are those who have accepted the marriage proposal of Christ, but could not live out their one year of betrothal in sanctification to the bridegroom. Those that are in the kingdom of Heaven, and who have accepted the marriage proposal of Christ, and who do spend their one year of sanctification in purity unto their betrothed, who are without spot or wrinkle, these persons have been given robes of white, as have the others, but have kept their white robes spotless, they have washed their robes in the blood of the bridegroom, they live pure, without sin, holy as He is holy, pure as He is pure, and they will not be divorced from their betrothal, but will be the bride of Christ on the wedding day. As Jesus teaches us by parable in Matthew 13, the tares who are of the kingdom of Heaven will be gathered and burned in the fire. The wheat will gathered into His barn. The seventh of these parables tells us that the sinners that accepted Jesus will be cast away, and the pure and holy that ARE the ONE doctrine of Christ, who accepted and believed the ONE doctrine of Christ, would go to heaven for eternity. Who is the betrothed woman that is full of sin? It is Babylon. This is the name given to her by God. Who is the woman that stands on the moon and is clothed with the sun, with seven stars on her head? This is the bride of Christ. Both women are in the kingdom of Heaven, which is now. Jesus speaks to the wheat in Revelation. Jesus says to the wheat, come out of HER my people, and have nothing to do with HER. Jesus is telling the wheat to separate from the tares, to come out of the tares. When you speak of "the churches", plural, as if there is more than one church, you are correct. For there are many churches, when there is supposed to be only one. The division exists between these many churches, because they believe many different things. They believe many different doctrines, and therefore, they have many different faiths. I want to address this with you Jon, because what you have shared in your post is completely (and I mean 100%) wrong. I don't want you to be upset when you read this, but I do want to discuss with you what your position is, and what it is that you have really, in essence, said.

"Last week we spoke of the “new thing” God is stirring in the body of Christ." I want to go back to this quote. I want to be very clear that this is not a new thing. This has been a "thing" with and of God from the beginning of the church. This is not new, it might be newly recognized by those apostate tares, but it is not new to any who is wheat, for it is not new. It is 2,000 years old (almost, 1,976 years). If your congregation or sect is only now realizing this, it is good, but it is not new, though thankfully it may be new to you and your sect. But Jon, you are 100% in error with every single word that you have shared. How can that be so? Well, just like the woman who HID a little sin in the perfect measure of the word of God, and it corrupted every single particle of the Word, so too is what you have shared. I do not suppose you to have done so on purpose; I do not attribute any motive. If I thought this, I would not spend 3 hours of my day sacrificing my income and work to share this long post with you. I share with you as a brother to a brother, though a brother who must learn some additional lessons of God to add to those many I am sure you have already learned.

Jon, when you say "While I agree that there are differences and that these differences today can cause frustration between those unwilling to accept another's practice of our faith, I don't believe that the differences that separate us are a hindrance to the advancement of the Kingdom of God" you are saying a mouthful. No, it does not hinder the Babylon portion of the kingdom of god, but it DOES hinder the work of Christ, and the building of His church, and it GREATLY hinders this. Let us look at the purpose behind unity:

    John 17:20 And I do not pray concerning these only, but also concerning those who will believe in Me through their word;
Joh 17:21 that all may be one, as You are in Me, Father, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. Joh 17:22 And I have given them the glory which You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are One:
Joh 17:23 I in them, and You in Me, that they may be perfected in one; and that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them, even as You loved Me.

This is the very heart of Jesus as He prayed to the Father the night of his arrest. This is the Lord's Prayer. The "Our Father, who art in heaven." is not the Lord's Prayer. The Lord's Prayer is the prayer that we be in unity. And what kind of unity? First off, this unity is to be only a unity of the apostles and those that believe the ONE doctrine of Christ as taught by those apostles. There is not to be any false unity between those that believe in tares and those that are wheat. Second, this unity has a purpose. The purpose is nothing less than the effect that every effort of every pastor, missionary and evangelist in the history of the World has worked for, and failed... it is so that the WORLD may believe that God sent Jesus, and that God loves those who are in unity. If you had unity, you could cut your missionary budget to zero, for the world would know! This is high stakes, and this is the purpose, as established by Jesus Himself, that you are arguing against, Jon. "I don't believe that the differences that separate us are a hindrance to the advancement of the Kingdom of God. I'll give my reasoning." Do you see the difference between the Words of my Lord, and your words? There is a world of difference.

Next, let us consider what kind of unity Jesus prayed for. "that all may be one, as You are in Me, Father, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us" "that they may be one, as We are One" "that they may be perfected in one" This is a very high standard of unity. We are to be in perfect unity. We are to be one, even as God is one. This is complete and total unity to the perfect degree as perfect of a degree as God is perfect. This is the absolute highest standard of unity. And this is the unity that we are to embody. Yet, Jon, you speak against this. You say that "there are differences and that these differences today can cause frustration between those unwilling to accept another's practice of our faith". Do you not know, Jon, that there is one faith? There is one Father, one Son, one Faith, one Doctrine, and one Spirit of God. Only one. There is NO division in the faith of those who are wheat, for we are wheat as He was the one Wheat.

John, you say that: "Entrance into the eternal promise of God is contingent upon one thing, and that one thing is faith in Jesus Christ. Though all denominations have intricacies here and there that cause them to differentiate themselves from one another, the one thing that all Christian denominations have in common is the one thing that saves; faith." This is a hard quote to dissect, for it is almost exactly like the wheat, only it is a tare. Behind this quote is the devil, just as when Jesus said "Get behind me Satan" to Peter. Note, I said that the spirit of the devil was behind you words, but I also liken you to Peter, please be alarmed at the spirit that I am pointing at, and not be offended that I am pointing at you. Please. Still, I can dissect this statement Jon, and show that it is not the same as the Word of God. "Though all denominations have intricacies here and there that cause them to differentiate themselves from one another..." let us dissect this portion first, to see what is contained in these well meaning words. (Note that I attribute your words to 'well meaning' and not any other intent.) What you call intricacies, I call wrong labeling. What you have termed intricacies, I call different gospels. Let me be clear about something; every single denomination that exists was formed because of a basic and elemental disagreement over the gospel message that was deemed so important that one group of humans could no longer serve and worship with another group of humans. Every single non-denominational church was formed because there was not, in their opinion, one denomination that embodied the beliefs of the one true gospel of Christ, or, because those forming the non-denominational church where themselves self serving and independent and wishing to be free of the burden of unity with other believers. You can not dismiss, and treat lightly, the very basic disagreements among the denominations. There are very few denominations which agree on the definition and method of salvation. And you call this "intricacies", and say they are united in faith? I think part of the problem is that you do not understand the definition of faith. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word. Faith is a reaction to the hearing of the Word of God. There is only one Father, one Son and One Spirit of God, and these are in perfect unity. There is only one Word of God, that is why there is only one faith. Allow me to post the definition of the word faith:

"Faith is a confident, believing, knowledgeable, convicted obedient response to the hearing of the Word of God."

There is only one Word, so there is only one faith. We cannot have any difference in our faith. Faith makes us available to receive the free gifts from God, yes, when you look at the proper definition of faith. The free gifts of God are five fold, as five is the perfect number of grace. These gifts are shod feet, a ring, the finest new robe, the killing of the fatted calf, and a celebration with the household staff. These equate to justification, sanctification, Holy Spirit, the Gospel message of the Word and the Church. With these five gifts of salvation, we are saved from sin. A life of being saved from sinning means that we die Holy, without spot or blemish, and can join the wedding as a part of the bride of Christ, and this future marriage is the only way to eternal life with God. This is the doctrine of Christ. This is the one gospel that Jesus came to preach. This is the one gospel that the apostles taught. This is NOT the gospel that the denominations teach. Baptists teach that you sin every day, and still have eternal life. Mennonites teach that you must live holy but then fail to be able to do so; Assembly of God says that you can re-marry after divorce and not be in sin, Methodists teach that you cannot overcome sin in your life, Anglicans teach that you cannot be holy, but are called holy by God anyway. Presbyterians teach that you sin in three different ways every day, and cannot escape from sin. None of the denominations that you know about agree with Paul or Peter or John or Christ. Not one denomination that you know of has the same faith as each other, and none of them have the same faith as the Bible. Why? Because, as Jesus said, a woman got a hold of the measure of flour, and corrupted every single particle of it with sin and disobedience to God. And you do not know this, or you would not be saying "I don't believe that the differences that separate us are a hindrance to the advancement of the Kingdom of God." These differences are absolutely opposed to, and hostile to, the kingdom of God.

This discussion of unity that is taking place, is because of a simple fact: men and woman are reading about unity in their bibles, and not seeing it in the 'churches' or even within their own congregations, and are waking up to the idea that something is wrong. What is wrong? I will tell you what is wrong, as I have been telling you. You are in Babylon, and are a tare, and sin. Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil, He came to destroy sin. In Him there is no sin, and we are to be in Him.

Still, there are those that love God, and get it right, even though they live among those false believers of Babylon. God is in their hearts, and working in their life, and they are living as they should, just not WHERE they should, and these people are often ignorant of the true condition of things. To these people, God says COME OUT! Come out of HER my people! For Jesus has some, many, of His people living in Babylon, unaware. To these people, the Holy Spirit is saying, come out! And when you come out, walking in faith to the Word of God being spoken to you, though you may be totally unaware of why or what is next, God will put you with His pure body of believers, and you WILL BE in PERFECT unity with all of them, just as Jesus is in unity with the Father and His Spirit. Yes, there is a physical manifestation of His body, the Church, physically present on earth. And it is not the sin mills; of sin you will doctrines of the enemy.

Lastly, I would like to say that your language, if you watch it closely, will give you every clue you need to understand all that I have shared in this post. When you say "churches" "my church" "your church" "our church" "denominations" you are really saying the truth. This church belongs to man, that church belongs to a different man, there are plural churches. But Jesus said he would build HIS church, singular. And why do we not notice our own language, and clue into the problem and understand it? Because tares are debilitating drugs that cause drunkenness and impaired walking. They cause dizziness and stupidity. Tares are awful, and if you have been dining on tares for years and years, you are in really bad shape. These false doctrines literally cause you drunkenness and an inability to think and consider things properly. It takes a couple of years to sober up from this condition. And it takes the true, fivefold ministry of the true Church, to sober you up. Do not be deceived, one denomination is not an arm, and another a foot. Denominations are not that way. Individuals in ONE BODY are that way. Denominations do not all have one head, Jesus Christ; they all have a DIFFERENT JESUS, different than the Jesus of the Bible. I can prove this. If any of you thinks that this is not true, write to me. We can form our own thread, and choose any one denomination, and take their doctrine that is promoted, and compare it to scripture, and I will show you that they serve a different Jesus that the Son of God in the Bible. I actively invite you, in all sincerity, to sit with me and take up this challenge, if that is what it will take for you to see the truth of the Word.

Unity is required among the true believers. Unity, like the unity of God, will never be possible among the denominations, for they are tares, believers in a false though almost identical word. Satan will create a false unity, a unity much different than the unity described by God, that is being seen even now. Do not fall for this false unity. This is the false unity that you are describing Jon-Paul. This false unity downplays the stark differences, and claims unity by the spirit, unity by faith. Only it is a false spirit, and a false faith, for it is belief and not faith. Do not fall for false unity. Come experience the true unity. Understand that you live in Babylon and are eating her drugs
