The Guardian Cherubim (Commentary)
Personal blog posted by Christian on April 23, 2009 at 8:52am
Man was banished from the Gan Eden, the earthly paradise.
After this expelling, Eden was guarded by Cherubim.
Why was also the Ark of the Covenant guarded by Cherubim figures?
Because the Ark contains the "cornerstone" of Paradise, the foundation of The Kingdom - the Torah.
Likewise, in visions of the Third Temple, Yehezkiel / Ezekiel describes the Temple walls as being adorned with carved Cherubim.
They guard the paradise from those who have not yet been sanctified to enter into it - when the time comes, as Yochanan's revelation tells us, there will no longer be a Third Temple in New Jerusalem, for the Lamb will be its Temple.
At that time, the Cherubim will finally cease to deny anyone entrance.
