Regarding a Nazarene Manifesto
Personal blog posted by Christian on February 21, 2010 at 1:31pm
I do not think I am the only one who has felt the tendency in society for people to say:
"BE (ORTHODOX) JEWISH, OR (PROTESTANT/CATHOLIC) CHRISTIAN - PICK A SIDE ALREADY !!"
My mother basically had these thoughts and made it clear to me - to
some of these people, it seems incomprehensible that there could be a
balanced middle ground between these two religions.
The remarkable thing is of course that this Nazarene "middle way"
religion is the same religion as basically everyone imagines Yeshua
had, when called upon to think about it for a moment.
The main objective, from my point of view, is to establish to the many,
many ignorant societies, some of which are even ignorant of something
so basic and common as 7th Day Christianity (a wide-spread religion,
with millions of followers, adhering to the Biblical Calendar to
various extents), that there even IS such a thing as our religion, and
that there is meaning in it, reason for it, and room for it.
Christians are increasingly challenged by the growing social awareness
of the Pagan Syncretist roots of Catholicism and her daughters (among
them the backsliding pro-Catholic Protestantisms), and the Atheist and
non-Atheist speakers who attack Babylonian Christianity with these
increasingly popular facts.
Our job is to MAKE people realize there is an alternative religion, a
Christianity not based upon Pagan concepts and syncretisms, and that
abandoning one type of Messianic faith does not mean abandoning the
Messiah - rather, getting to know him better and more accurately, by
viewing him through a more historically and Scripturally harmonious
lens.
This alternative way I believe can absolutely still be called Christianity, at
least as much as Mormonism and Jehova's Witnesses can be called
Christiantiy, but that is beside my point.
I think we need some sort of a NAZARENE MANIFESTO directed towards society in general.
We must keep casting our nets over Jews and Christians to see which
fish we pull up, but we need to establish a presence in the social
awareness spectrum, and in the common mind - we need to be referred to,
even if in a less than flattering manner - take Mormonism as an
example, I believe they've carved out an exemplary niche for
themselves; being known as a form of Christianity, being known for it's
more unique practices, for it's family life, for it's historical
adherents and their actions, for it's territory, for the TV show
entirely based around them ("Big Love"), for the accents and
appearances and details associated with it's members, etc -- and all
without truly exposing it's own inner doctrines to or through any media
outlet.
Why can't Nazarenes, Sabbatarian Christians or even 7th Day Adventists
Christianity be as much an established cultural phenomena/instiution in
the global (not just American) social awareness?
This is especially a concern here in Europe, where it seems Satan is strongly opposing such a change.
If it be according to the Creator's plan, and if we have enough time, I would suggest the establishing and familiarizing effect of a Nazarene Manifesto would have a greatly positive outcome, even if it has to occur in the US first and slowly spread to S. America and Europe.
Although I do not know who would write such a thing, I'm certain even
spirited, small-scale projects and writings by motivated individuals
could end up turning the tide in the information wars against Satan,
and his deletion of Sabbath-Keeping Christianity from the public awareness.
