He Is Like The Ocean (Parables, Metaphors, Philosophies)
Personal blog posted by Christian on February 23, 2009 at 11:57am
What can we liken YHWH to?
God is like the ocean.
Imagine an ocean, without horizon.
Separate a drop from this ocean and put it in a glass.
It is still God, it is still the ocean, but separate.
The glass is dead unto itself when it is empty.
When it is filled with water, God, God’s spirit, it is living and filled.
This glass is the human body.
If the glass is shaken and imbalanced, the water, God’s spirit, will spill.
The goal of personal conduct and law is to maintain this spirit, and not spill it.
When the glass breaks, the water falls to the ground and is sucked back into the ocean.
So our goal in this mortal glass body of ours is to keep ourselves in balance and harmony with God’s Law, so as to not lessen our spirit by putting ourselves through unbalancing experience.
If a glass is constantly being shaken, it will spill its water.
Water is life, the water of life.
A glass cup is only worth something when it is filled with water.
Glass is a hard material that is dead unto itself, as a lung without breath.
