In the early hours of the morning of Thursday 26 November 1998 I was awakened after an especially vivid dream. I had had a restless night, not knowing what it was that was troubling me.
In the dream I saw a beautiful golden palace rising majestically into the sky. It appeared to be covered in gold. In some respects it looked like a ziggurat, but it was not that either. It was clearly a 20th century creation. It was taller than it was braoder and seemed to be staggered, the area of the floor above being slightly less than that of the floor below. In some respects it resembled Russia architecture, reminding me of a building I had once seem in the Kremlin. I'm not sure about the roof, whether it was flat of not - oit certainly was not domed.

Suddenly jet aircraft appeared in the sky and were attacking the golden palace. Missiles struck the majestic building one after the other until the building was a heap of rubble. I then became aware that the Iraqi dictator was not in the building but in a bunker deep under the earth that was protected by thick steel. Though I did not "see" this in the dream I was accutely aware of it.
The military aircraft were single-seater and seemed to be grey, though I am not certain. They had no visible marking so I could not tell whether they were US or some other Allied power, or whether they were Iraqi airforce rebels.
At the end of the dream I found myself in the air looking at one of these planes. A laser beam of some kind seemed to be coming from another aircraft and fixed itself on a missile fixed to the edge of the port wing. Once the locating beam made contact with the missile, a red pulse, looking a bit like a tiny missile, but perhaps just a laser beam), shot through the air from the invisible aircraft, impacted the missile, causing missile and aircraft to explode in the air. The dream then ended.
