Introduction
Before you are introduced to the New Covenant Assemblies of Yahweh (NCAY) there is a more important matter that we must first attend to - the salvation of your SOUL.
By the word "soul" I am referring to your WHOLE PERSON no matter how you believe it is constructed. I am referring to your SELF or the SUM OF YOUR BEING or PERSONALITY. I am referring to YOU.
Every human being is a "living soul", a living entity, with the will to survive. We are driven by many forces in our lives, some detrimental to the welfare of the soul, and some undoubtedly of tremendous benefit. Ask someone to list all that a person needs to thrive and you will probably get different lists. Most will agree upon the basic physical necessities of survival - food, shelter, clothing, and safety, to name but four. When it comes to the spiritual or psychological needs of a person the disagreement begins. It is easy to discern visible needs, harder to discern that which is invisible.
A Powerful Dream
I created this page on Friday 9 July 1999 after a very intense and moving dream - you know, the kind that you carry around with you for hours after you have woken up - one that you don't easily forget. In it I was talking to my wife who had just returned from a vaccation and she was telling me about the nice time she had had with her parents and friends. She was evidently very refreshed and happy following the visit. As she was talking to me about her family, I began to weep from the depths of my heart, and said to her: "If you knew the destination of their souls, you would be weeping as I am."
Then the dream changed and I found myself in South America, possibly in Argentina. As I walked down a small dirt road I met a procession of placard-waving, chanting people, who were very upset about something. They were mostly women and children of all ages, but with some men too. I greeted them and they waved to me as they proceeded down the way I was coming The placards were written in Spanish and though I could not read them I knew they were protesting against some atrocity committed by their government or some other secular authority. At length I came to a river and down by the river bank were many people, mostly women, who were weeping over children who had apparently been murdered and buried in the river or by the river bank. The bodies had been recovered and lay under small blankets on the river bank. I watched a mother surrounded by some of her children lift up a blanket and then weep uncontrollably. I also began to weep deeply but I was aware that I was weeping for something different - the SOULS of the victims.
Today I want to talk to you about your SOUL - not just your physical body, important though that is with all its needs and appetites, but the invisible part of you that is known by most as your SPIRIT. For those of you who do not believe in an invisible spirit, but who believe all the attributes of personality derive from the physical body which completely disappears at death, I would like to refer you to some other articles accompanying this introduction, because it is important that you understand the fallacies that lie behind such currently popular philosophies as materialism, humanism, existentialism, and the like. But for know I am writing for those of you who have a sense that there is at least something "more" than your physical body, that invisible part of you where the real "you" is and which survives after the death of the physical body. But no matter what you currently believe, what is important is that all of us continue to be sensitised to the greater reality that surrounds us, and is within us, as we seek to find answers to life's most difficult questions - questions that will significantly affect our whole future.
