These prophecies, like a great many in the Old Testament, are two-sided. They not only concern the physical House of Israel and those who live in the Holy Land but also the New Israel, or the Church. In the light of these passages in Zechariah, what do you imagine is going to happen amongst the Christian Churches when Christ returns? _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

23. To whom will Jesus be visible when He returns? (Revelation 1:7) _________________________________________________________________________________________________________
In view of the fact that "those who pierced Him" will see Him also, do you think this passage refers to just those who are alive on the earth when He returns, or to everyone who has ever lived? _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The apostle Peter says: "...the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire; and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare. Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives as you look forward to the day of God and speed its coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. But in keeping with His promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness. So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with Him" (2 Peter 3:10-14, NIV).
This passage has led to the belief by some Christians that the Millennium will not be on the earth but in heaven. They rationalise that since the earth will be burned up so also will any human beings. But this is not what the passage says. Both heaven and earth are to become the "home of the righteous"; moreover, Peter is quite clear in saying that those who are "spotless, blameless and at peace with
This interpretation is corroborated by the prophet Isaiah, whom Peter is quoting: "Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in what I will create, for I will create Jerusalem to be a delight and its people a joy. I will rejoice over Jerusalem and delight in My people..." (Isaiah 65:17-19a).
This cleansing will occur on all levels of creation -- from the mind (eradicating all unpleasant memories) to the very physical elements. That some kind of supernatural protection is to be given to the righteous, as well as to animals and plants, may reasonably be supposed. This cleansing could occur instantaneously so as to be imperceptible to those who survive or it could possible occur slowly throughout the Millennium, culminating in the total disappearance of the earth and of heaven (Rev.21:1).
24. For those who are alive and remain until the second coming of the Lord, what type of change will take place in them when He appears? (1 Corinthians 15:51-53,41-44)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
N.B. There is a difference between a "spirit" body and a "spiritual" body (1 Cor.15:44). The "spirit" body is the spiritual counterpart of the physical body which by nature is carnal and "fleshy" and wars against the spirit body. The "spiritual" body here refers to the resurrected body of flesh and spirit, the whole being "spiritual". The resurrection not only makes the spirit and physical body immortal by combining them into one single entity (no longer two parts) but the resultant combination is made holy or "spiritual". A resurrected body is not, therefore, carnal or "fleshy".
25. What four promises does the Lord give those who survive to live in the Millennium? (Isaiah 65:20)
26. What will be the condition of the animal world? (Isaiah 65:25)

33. What happens to those who are not resurrected during the Millennium? (Revelation 20:5)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
34. What are the righteous ordained to be, and what will they do with Christ? (Revelation 20:6)
At the end of the Millennium the first earth and the first heaven completely disappear, and a new heaven and a new earth appear (Rev.21:1). Onto this new planet or world the Holy City, or New Jerusalem, descends from heaven (v.2).
35. Who will come and dwell with men on this new planet? (Revelation 21:3)

37. Which previous period of earth's history will this time resemble? (Genesis 10:25)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The continents divided in the days of Peleg and where they divided the great oceans were formed. The reverse will occur at the end of the Millennium. This post-millennial earth is sometimes called the Celestial Earth.
38. What is it that makes the resurrection possible? (1 Corinthians 15:54-55)

39. The Millennium cannot begin until what conditions are met? (1 Corinthians 15:24-25)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
40. What is the last enemy to be destroyed? (1 Corinthians 15:26)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Jesus Christ has already won the victory over Satan and his host of enemies. They are already under His feet. He must reign in Heaven until His Body, the Church, has overcome in all things through the power of the Spirit, just as He Himself did.
41. We have learned that the saints will receive a resurrection body when Jesus appears. What other changes will take place within us meanwhile? (2 Corinthians 3:18)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The Greek word for "transformed" is metamorphoô or "metamorphosis", which means "to gradually change".
42. Will this transformation take place in a split second, like the physical resurrection? If not, how will it take place? (2 Corinthians 3:18)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Sanctification, or the process of being made holy so that we become like Jesus Christ, will continue to take place during the Millennium. It will not be instantaneous. Without the opposition of Satan, great opportunities will be given the saints, especially those who were cut off in their mortal life by untimely death.
43. Will there be more opposition at the end of the Millennium? (Revelation 20:7ff)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Why do you think that another period of opposition and testing is required in addition to the pre-millennial period of opposition and testing? Why could Satan not have been cast into the Lake of Fire at the beginning of the Millennium? Do you think that the saints will be further separated into different categories? See 1 Corinthians 15:40-41. If there are many degrees of glory, what are they, and who goes to them?
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The final consummation of the transformation will take place at the return of the Lord when death is swallowed up in victory. By that time mankind will have been divided into numerous different categories of resurrection. Paul puts its this way: "There are heavenly bodies {sun, moon and stars} and there are earthly bodies {of men, animals and plants}, and the beauty and glory of the heavenly bodies is of one kind, while the beauty and glory of earthly bodies is a different kind. The sun is glorious in one way, and the moon is glorious in another way, and the stars are glorious in their own (distinctive) way; for one stars differs from and surpasses another in its beauty and beauty and brilliance. So it is with the resurrection of the dead" (1 Corinthians 15:40-42a, Amplified New Testament). Each person will shine with a light that reflects his or her righteousness.

51. How are we to live in this present age? (Titus 2:12)
52. In accordance with Jesus' High Priestly Prayer, what must be seen in the Church by the world as a witness and testimony of Jesus? (John 17:18,21-23)
Jesus went out before the world as a lamb without spot or wrinkle, anointed with the Holy Spirit and power, healing the sick and destroying the works of the devil. Jesus manifested the nature of God before the world. Before the end comes, Jesus will return, not for a weak, defeated and sickly Church, hiding out in the wilderness, but rather a victorious Bride, anointed with the Holy Spirit and power. The Church having been washed in the water of the Word will be glorious and holy within and without. She will be going forth in the power of the Holy Spirit, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting our demons, setting the captives free. She will be a conquering Church. She will be mighty and powerful in the earth, even if she is only small, as she endeavours to go forth and disciple the nations, reaching them the ways of the Lord.
53. Jesus was perfectly led by the Spirit of God. What are some of the things that characterised His life? (John 5:19-20,30; 12:49-50,45; 18:38)
54. A picture of the redeemed is given in Revelation. Describe them (Revelation 14:4)
"Not being defiled with women" means that they are not involved with the harlot system of this world. They are virgins betrothed only to Jesus. They have no other gods before them. They follow the Lamb wherever He goes!
55. What attitude does Jesus exhort us to have concerning His coming? (Luke 12:35-40)

59. How will the day of the Lord come to the righteous? (1 Thessalonians 5:4-8)
_________________________________________________________________________________________________________
60. What promise do we have from the Lord? (Amos 3:7)
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
As we continue to follow the Lord by being transformed into His image and by awaiting eagerly for the blessed hope of the glorious appearing of our Saviour, God will reveal His counsel in our midst and we will know of the things that are coming upon the earth before they happen. It is only those who are in darkness and who are ignorant of God's Word who will be overtaken suddenly. But, those who are going on to know Him will receive instruction and counsel and will be rejoicing in great anticipation of the things that are to come. They will be ready and will be put in charge of all that the Master has.
The New Covenant Church of God is making every effort to prepare a people for the return of the Master and to counsel other churches to do the same. Your responsibility is to pass on this message both to your family and to those you know.
